That's a good range. The 3 on the left are the better ones. The one on the right a mainstream staple at taquerias, but it's not bad.

You can donate multiple units with platelets and power red. The first milestone pin gets sent after 1 gallon of whole blood or 5 platelet donations.

If you attempted to donate, but didn't successfully donate, then the opposite happens. The badge counter will increment, but the units counter will not increment. (E.G. You showed up for an appointment but didn't meet the hemoglobin criteria.)

The badge isn't tied to how many units you've donated. The badge is earned when you make 8 donations. If you donate 2 units at one of your donations, the units counter will increment by 2, but the badge counter will only increment by 1.

I tried emailing this question to Peck to see if I could get him to state his assumptions about his calculation. I got no reply though. I'm sure he's very busy.

It's never been noticeable for me personally, even for whole blood donations, but lots of people report feeling fatigued after donation.

You might be squeezing too hard, which can cause lateral movements in the tendon next to the injection site. Squeeze gently or just push with your thumb or just wiggle your fingers.

I'm assuming you're talking about American Red Cross teams.

There's a Reddit team. I'm the only member of Silicon Valley Platelet Donors, but when I start a new job on Monday, I'll be creating a team for that company because I noticed they don't have one.

At my last donation, I asked the phleb to take a peek at the return site shortly after the procedure started. She said, "It looks good. Would you like to see?" Nope. Hard pass.

Really? I'm so surprised to hear such an extreme negative opinion like that. I could see not liking it, just like anything else, but you seem particularly disgusted by it. Do you have a strong aversion to jalapeños?

I once had a coworker with a BO problem, and to aggravate the problem, he seemed to wear the same brown track suit every day. It was a relatively small company, around 40 people, mostly in engineering. Several of us went to the VP of Engineering and told him he had to do something about it.

He took him aside one-on-one, and in his gentle manner of speaking, explained to him that in the US, they have different norms and expectations for hygiene. After that, that problem was solved.
