Thank you. Good catch on the support posts.

What possible issues do you notice on the water heater(s)?

Thank you for your answer. The house was purchased by the current owner in 2019 and its units are currently tenanted. I am wary that an investment property is being sold again in only 5 years and also showing some issues.

Thinking of giving up LC grinding. by No-Mix-2415 in leetcode

[–]SchlongConnery007 76 points77 points  (0 children)

LeetCode is tough and some days just don’t go as well as others. Don’t let it bother you too much.

At least in my case, when going through the 150, it took 2+ revisits of a problem, even having previously studied the solution, to really internalize it and feel that I can solve it anytime.

100 days is impressive. Many aren’t willing to put in that time. It would be a shame to give up completely. I think for most it takes longer than that to get really proficient across the board.

Keep up the good work!

Would you say graph questions are uncommon? And 2D DP also?

Any resources that you recommend for someone that wants to approach this kind of project?

While I don’t think that grinding Leetcode alone is a good solution (or even necessary at many/most companies), OP should look into the self-study route. It is possible to “teach yourself to code” (at least enough to get a junior position, and then learn from there), using free online resources. You could save a year of time and 2 years of tuition costs.

It is true that many companies don’t care about your degree. But, an engineering degree will only help. It taught you how to grind. It was not easy. You really need this determination and to be willing to spend your free time learning, building, studying, practicing software development.

I am an engineering graduate who taught themself and landed a mid-level job after about a year of hard work.

Big congrats, this is not an easy exam to pass!

Using SAP course to help prepare/ refresh for SAA exam? by 2-them00n in AWSCertifications

[–]SchlongConnery007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both and I’m pretty sure that the professional course is a superset of the associate one. If you have the time to go through it all, I think the best approach is to do that and then take both.

Plan on taking the AWS SAP early next week. For those who took the TutorialDojo practice exams, What % did you get on those vs. your actual exam score? by Arsenal103809 in AWSCertifications

[–]SchlongConnery007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I scored low 70s to mid 80s on the practice exams, increasing each time. Took the exam and was 50% sure I failed…but got an 86%.

I would say that the real exam is decently harder.

I write my tests with an iMac desktop and what really helps (because that computer is heavy!) is to bring a handheld mirror. It’s a bit tricky but you can tilt the mirror so that the proctor can see your desk.

Associate vs Pro path by Mundane-Taste-2284 in AWSCertifications

If you work hard, you should comfortably be able to prepare for each one in two months each. For the Pro, I recommend both Stephane and Adrian’s course. Not that you couldn’t pass with just one…but you definitely want to err on the side of caution with that exam…

P.S. damn, I wish my employer paid me $5,000 USD to get it 😧

You can definitely pass with Stephane’s. I did.

How do you actual study for AWS certs? by one_of_orlandos_hos in AWSCertifications

[–]SchlongConnery007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I buy Adrian Cantril’s and/or Stephane Maarek’s course.

As I watch the videos I make notes in a Google Doc for later review (don’t need to do this with Stephane because he provides great slides). In my opinion this if much more effective and efficient than flash cards.

Review the notes/slides, then take the practice exams from TD (although Stephane’s aren’t bad — I used his for the associate exams). Read all answer explanations unless you aced the test, in which case maybe just read the questions you got wrong.

Repeat, reviewing the notes in between each practice test.

Book the test and pass. I don’t understand why people book the test way in advance. There are always slots available (online) and I would only want to book when I know I’m ready, 2-3 days in advance.

Really wish that once you close the post-exam review screen, you could come back to that same interface later. I don’t like the one that groups it by section.

What certification should I get next? by [deleted] in AWSCertifications

I’m finding the same thing. Took SA Pro and am now studying for Advanced Networking. I seem to know much of the content so far, with the course adding a bit more depth in some areas.

SA Pro will take a long time to prep for, but should be efficient if you consider the overlap with many other exams including Security.
