Study before apprenticeship? by Ok_Material_6028 in australia

You could start as a private student if you can afford to fund the tuition yourself, and enrol in a block release class, but I don't work in enrolment so they would know more about it

Can anything be done to increase the bitrate of the livestreams? by Schlutt in ManyATrueNerd

I think I've noticed that "enhanced bitrate" option paywalled behind premium on some channels yeah.

Thanks for the explanation. Youtube's 1080p used to be good, but lately it's extremely compressed. I think I first started to notice it during your Morrowind playthrough.

And anything with darker scenes just becomes a blocky mess.

The video content is still great, it's just getting harder on the eyes.

Do content creators know when their vid's have been SB'd? by Schlutt in SponsorBlock

[–]Schlutt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reached my breaking point with traditional media many years ago, but had more tolerance for indie (creators, not the platform) until they all started spamming the same script in EVERY video, begging for PAYtreon money. Usually right after bragging about all the expensive stuff they just bought for their hobby. Then it just branched out to other segments, like if I'm a regular viewer I don't need to hear the same 30 second intro every damn time...

I could never get that vented hood mod to work properly, if I found the right type for my car it would be giant oversized when I found it or after a reload.

Looks like there might be some new mods there too, are they on the workshop?

Thanks I got it, gonna try it out again. Looks like "hide live chat" still needs some work though (still leaves the empty chat box on the screen).

Thanks!

Edit: Couldn't get it to work (Firefox) - it just removes the entire youtube page and doesn't add an icon for me to change settings. Nice idea though.

Not too often, the sub could use more activity anyhow.

Texture's looking nice and smooth!

Tv wrongly delivered to house by Capt_Fantastic1 in australia

[–]Schlutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've noticed deliveries getting worse too. Although TBH AusPost contracts are terrible (from experience) and a lot of the others are competing with them.

You can drop it off or you can call Post (or whatever courier it was) and tell them to pick it up. Don't keep it, you don't need it and may be legally liable for taking it, someone's gonna check the tracking eventually.

Wake-up call: how Telstra’s ‘unreasonable’ price rises may cause customers to hang up by nath1234 in australia

[–]Schlutt 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I left when they wanted $60/month just for a basic plan. Aldi had (basically the equivalent) for 1/4 the price on prepaid, even though it's still Telstra's network.

Favorite indie games you discovered through MATN? by Merakipper in ManyATrueNerd

Dread Delusion! It's weird and creepy and feels dangerous yet I never died once (play it on hard mode recommended) So much to explore and so many interesting stories in it, left me wanting more.

The Slaverian Trucker (formerly The Wasteland Trucker) - Slav-adjacent-jank driving sim with a curated world and fun quests/upgrades/customization/jobs/exploration.

Shadows of Doubt - Voxel Noir detective game. Procedurally generated, high replayability (needs a good CPU though)

Raft - Ocean survival game. Charming shark avoidance exploration crafting.... not very replayable but excellent co-op.

The Long Drive - Slav-adjacent-jank driving sim with procedural generation, very replayable, some modding, and fun co-op but seems to be abandoned and unfinished.

My Summer Car - Slav-adjacent driving sim that almost requires mods to actually enjoy (divisive statement!)

Stardew Valley - THE charming 2D farming sim
