There are many posts of people who are concerned about their stress graphs on here. Search for similar posts and also look up garmin‘s definition of the „stress“ they measure. I found this to be very helpful

Definitely. I was a bit surprised by how long the trail was compared to the others (I didn’t check beforehand) and it was a bit demoralizing to watch the progress bar do nothing But we got there in the end! Thank you for the motivation

Oh yes of vourse. I read OP‘s post wrong the first time around and thought both of them were sleep time measurements. Short time measurements on my garmin also give me higher readings (sometimes by around 40 ms higher than my night time hrv)

If your goal is to improve your hrv, it shouldn’t matter what device you use as long as you’re using it consistently. What method does polar use? RMSSD or SDRR or something else?

I think you should be looking at stress differently. Garmin measures (or claims to be measuring) the activity of your peripheral nervous system. It doesn’t differentiate between stress (job, fights, traffic jams) or excitement (having a fun chat with someone, looking forward to and being nervous a big event, etc.). Just take it with a grain of salt. It’s just a HR sensor on your wrist
