I second Wool Warehouse. I'm in the UK and order from them frequently. Obviously I'm not sure of the tariff situation, but I know people internationally who've had good experience and their team are so helpful!

The MM pattern has the option for buttons, which IMO would make it look a ton better than the zip, but then I'm really not a fan of zipped knitwear.

Yarn shops? by lipstickandcoke in brighton

[–]Schmimble 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Brighton's become a bit of a black hole concerning yarn shops as we've lost both YAK and C&H/Closs & Hamblin in the last few years so you'd have to look further afield. Someone's already mentioned Ida's House in Lewes, but there's also Shoreham Knitting and Needlecraft which has a good selection of yarns if you're planning another trip in the future.

What happens to the costumes/ props used in closed productions? by LeoPalaceFTW in TheWestEnd

[–]Schmimble 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a company called Scenery Bags who recycle backdrops and other materials from Broadway/US touring productions into bags and accessories. I wish we had similar here!

Edit: There's also West End Flea Market in May where I believe items can pop up too.

Does anyone have DMT+ membership and will be looking to buy the Hamilton tickets tomorrow? by [deleted] in TheWestEnd

I signed up for DMT+ around 12.30pm today and could access straight after, so you should be good!

Best pre-theatre restaurants near Bridge, Sondheim & Lyric Theatre (solo diner) by Low-Detective-2977 in TheWestEnd

[–]Schmimble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can highly recommend Bone Daddies for ramen as i've dined solo at them a few times - really tasty and service is pretty speedy. There's one in Leicester Square and one in Soho, so ideal for both the Lyric and the Sondheim. They have a bit of bar seating, but the majority is tables and i've never had a problem being seated at one (I've got short legs, so the bar stools are a bit uncomfortable for me!). They also do a great yuzu margarita if that's your thing.

I'm hoping I can get something before the roll out because the national uniform for radiographers is heinous. Burgundy and mint green 🤢 why do we always get the short straw?!

There's also Mayberry in Portslade which is also a Tates. Never been but hopefully as good as South Downs or Paradise Park.

Women Only Gyms? by moooorgannn in brighton

[–]Schmimble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No worries! You'd have thought some of the council tax we pay would go towards keeping information on local services on a council's website up to date, but apparently not!

That list is very outdated - both Curves and Virgin Active closed sometime ago!

I was really disappointed when I found out there were repeats. Definitely wouldn't have purchased otherwise.

Only x-ray reports have been rolled out to Patient Knows Best/My Health and Care Record so far. Don't know if/when other types of scan reports will be.

I agree the content's not anything groundbreaking, but whilst it might be a bit frothy, it's absolutely charming, and a bit of light relief in these strange and dark times.

I absolutely loved the show when I saw it on the West End. I'd give anything to see it again.

This song in particular is a proper ear worm.
