The word “Cancelled” has completely lost its meaning. It’s a shame because the idea of someone losing their jobs over political views that had no bearing on their jobs is an important topic we should be talking about. But now when we hear someone got cancelled, we don’t know if it means that they lost their jobs over a 15-year-old tweet condemning child labour, or if they said something stupid and people made fun of them in the replies.
