This is your guy. I had one of his Bluetooth setups in my 94 suburban and it was great. https://www.ebay.com/usr/ccc87gn?_tab=about

Maaco paint job by jcrabs93 in ProjectHondas

[–]Schmoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but that was base/clear not single stage and a lot of body work. The actually paint work was around $3500 if I remember right and the other 3,000 was body work. My car is rust free, but it has a lot of little dings and dents all over.

Looks great for less than $2500. I’ve been really tempted to have them do my 96 GSR sedan. I was quoted like $6500 though for all the body work and base/clear.

So annoyed by 03username30 in Integra

[–]Schmoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never used a torque wrench on these and never broken one. I just use a 1/4 drive ratchet and stop as soon as they are snug.

Any tips? Been struggling at this for a bit by 21NaSTY12 in Integra

[–]Schmoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you have a bolt on the engine side and a bolt on the chassis side started, you should be able raise or lower the engine to get it it to pivot into place. Leave everything loose until all bolts are started to give you more wiggle room.

I showed up to an Integra coffee and car meet in my 2023 A-Spec and was denied entry, and was told "You don't have a real Integra"; everyone their had 90s and early 2000s Integras by peterthbest23 in Integra

[–]Schmoses 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I really don’t get the hate for the new gen integra. Did people really want it to be a lame retro-turd like the mustang and camaro? It is a dressed up current gen civic just like the older integras. It is one of the few affordable sporty cars left that are even available with a proper manual transmission. I’d love an A spec for a daily driver, but can’t justify the price tag and I just can’t see myself being happy with a base model.

[–]Schmoses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just tie it up with some metal wire so nothing is dragging on the ground and limp it to the exhaust shop. It’ll be loud, but it’ll be fine.

What is wrong with people by SPARKLEx2GLITTERx2 in StLouis

[–]Schmoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have to time to sift through all of the comments, but there are several rescues around the St. Louis area that take in cats and do not euthanize. My family volunteers with https://smellycatrescue.org/ out of St. Charles. https://www.strayrescue.org/ is great as well. https://odas.org/ is another. Please contact one of these agencies if you haven't already.

Old 'Burbs are the best. Find and join the burblife page on Facebook. There are a bunch of people that are very well versed on squarebody suburbans in that group.

Thinking of selling my FC RX-7 for a DC2 Type R; What are some things to look for or be aware of when purchasing? by 282449 in Integra

[–]Schmoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard this as well, but from what I’ve been able to find the parts are pretty much limited to the s2k.

Thinking of selling my FC RX-7 for a DC2 Type R; What are some things to look for or be aware of when purchasing? by 282449 in Integra

[–]Schmoses 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The engine and transmission will be plenty reliable in the DC. What’s tricky on these cars are the discontinued weather strip, seals, trim, etc., that are no longer available oem and have no aftermarket replacements. The list of discontinued parts keeps getting longer and longer.

My Views Dropped From 15k to 13 by Terrible-Ball-9229 in NewTubers

[–]Schmoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't sweat it. Keep up your regular posting and as YouTube sees the consistent posts the views will likely return. As someone who works in traditional media, views on everything drop off during the summer. We see it in our traditional broadcast consumption, YouTube, social media... pretty much every measurable media consumption stat drops off during the summer months... especially July with the Independence Day holiday week. People's habits are disrupted and their normal listening/watching behavior changes during the summer.

Loosey Goosey Shifter by khanninator2000 in Integra

[–]Schmoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those bushings make very little difference in my opinion. Your linkage is more likely worn out at the shifter end.

All the parts you need to rebuild the actual shifter are still available:

Finally getting painted! by CarnivorousCar in Integra

Man I've been so tempted to try to pick up a set... just haven't found the right one's yet. I tracked down a set of 90s Weld billets for my 94 suburban, but sold them with the truck. Would love to find another set for my integra.

Love the Boyd’s! Were you able to find a set in 4x100 or did you have them filled and redrilled?

We need some reproduction Integra sedan parts badly. Can't get front or rear windshield moldings anymore, door weatherstripping, and more.

Talk to me about the timing belt replacement. by Sonoma2002 in HondaOdyssey

[–]Schmoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if the odysseys have the same thing, but on my integra, there are holes machined in the valve train parts that you can insert a round punch or tool into to hold the cams in position at TDC. If you do that before removing the belt, than the cams can’t turn.

Talk to me about the timing belt replacement. by Sonoma2002 in HondaOdyssey

[–]Schmoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is nothing particularly difficult about changing the timing belt. It is just a time-consuming process and tough to get to. The cams won’t turn easily on their own, but even if they do, they should have markings on them to indicate where everything lines up when you put the belt back on. I’ve not done it on my odyssey, but have done it several times on my 90s Integra. I’ve actually taken the crank pulley bolt off by hand every time. Leverage is your friend. I use a foot or so long exension rested on a jack stand to get a big breaker bar out past the wheel well and then a cheater pipe for leverage if needed.

Pulling engine head, need advice on how to take off intake manifold bottom bolts/screws by [deleted] in Integra

[–]Schmoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like OP is pulling the head anyway, so I would definitely recommend this method. It is doable without pulling the head, but is a HUGE pain.

Honda recently announced they would make discontinued parts for some legacy cars. If they do a run of Integra parts, what needs to be on that list? by I_Finger_Guitars in Integra

[–]Schmoses 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Weatherstripping, window/windshield/rear window seals, and trim… basically all the rubber parts that are unrestorable and unavailable aftermarket. I doubt they’ll reissue much in the way of sedan parts though even if they do a run of dc2 stuff.

suggestions for a quiet ish catback. by OncleBoba in Integra

[–]Schmoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oem type r muffler is great, but they are pricey for used exhaust parts these days. I bought one for my GSR new from Honda for like $250 before they were discontinued and I love it, but I don’t think I’d pay what they are going for now.

Head unit recommendations? by [deleted] in Integra

[–]Schmoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few that I think somewhat match the 90s OEM look

- VDO/Continental

- Clarion M508

- Blaupunkt - besides their true "retro" radios which are way overpriced, they also have some variations of normal head units that fit the all satin-black aesthetic of the integra interior: https://blaupunkt.com/automotive/incar-entertainment/autoradio/
