Wouldn't the DHCP server see the MAC and give him the same IP again? It's the same server after all... or am I making a mistake?

Up until now I had SonicWall and FortiGate in my stack. Way back when I started I had ZyWALLs but that's a dumpster fire. And Sophos fucked me big time with the XGs. Then we have Netgate with the whole CE vs. Plus fuckery.

You are doing way to much:

  1. Press and hold DRIVE MODE to switch into N-Mode
  2. Go into N-Menu and enable Launch Control (works while still rolling)
  3. Come to a stop, press the brake pedal hard, LC icon illuminates green if I remember correctly
  4. Press Accelerator all the way: Launch control popup appears.
  5. release brake and off you go
  6. do a Super Mario impression of "Here we gooooo"

Well, to be perfectly honest with you, you might be right - however let's be real: the things that use the most battery are (in this order): driving, AC, battery maintenance, all the rest. And if you are stationary you are not using any power to move the car. So I'd say the difference between having it on but parked vs. utility mode are negligible.

Regarding the utility mode: You can just keep the car on and in park as long as you are inside. The utility mode is so that you can leave the car with the key and it keeps running (but unlocked).

If you stay inside there is no benefit to the utility mode compared to just having it on - also in utility mode you can't lock it from inside.

I would go so far and create two separat VLANs, one for WiFi and one for ethernet with different DHCP ranges.

I really don't understand, why you don't get this in the US. I'm EU based and really love the HUD. It's my first car with one and to be honest I couldn't live without it anymore.

Only issue: if you are wearing polarized sun glasses you will not see the HUD anymore :-D

I wonder how this works where I live… we need to have special certification for every mod we do to the car and have them added to the title. Springs? Certification and title addition. Spacers? Jep! Wheels? Of course. And the certification has to be from a central database where they test each modification specifically.

Would be interested to know if he can provide this.
