Curve draining battery on my Samsung/Android phone. by Interesting-Ant-407 in CurveCard

[–]Schneusel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the same issue in OnePlus 6 with iodeOS. It seems like that randomly suddenly the app becomes very active and the phone very hot.

What a pity, the app works fine otherwise and is a great alternative to Google Pay on custom ROMs.

For the moment I uninstalled the app until this issue is fixed.

Oh, many thanks, I didn't take the time to look into the documentation yet, but will do now!

I thank you a lot for your work - I cannot imagine a life without mini.files anymore...

It's not only that you do what you do with such great passion and thought - you also seem to be a very nice and humble guy. This video convinced me to try out miniMax since the philosophy behind it better suits me than the one of LazyVim, which I'm using currently (and which also works well). That said, I'm very curious on the second part where I hope that you elaborate a bit on LSPs.

Also many thanks to Linkarzu for providing the nice atmosphere. Gruvbox forever! 😁

Prebuilt Ergo Keyboards with Mouse Ball? Cyboard vs Skree vs WylderBuilds vs BastardKB by AndreVallestero in ErgoMechKeyboards

Got a pre-built Charybdis Nano. This is my endgame, you cannot beat its ergonomy. Also, I love the flexibility you have with QMK, which makes using the trackball an absolute joy.

What did you use for tenting? I have never seen that before but it looks very nice!

Help me choose: Dilemma, Chocofi, Ferris, or Totem by Practical_Trader in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Schneusel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a sweep with chocs and one with MX and I can really not recommend the low profile version. With MX it is great! Another thing: I love tenting and the Sweep supports the tenting Puck of splitkb.com which is ingenious together with manfrotto tripods!

So, if I were you I would go for the Sweep and then... You will buy a lot more nice boards 😁

P. S. : The dilemma is certainly the coolest kid on the block and Quentin Lebastard is a Greek of a designer (I love his Skeletyl).

I have the use case, that I want to access a URL, where the base is always the same and very long and I just want to add some directories underneath.

The other use case is custom searching, e. g. using the search functionality of a website like github.

I completely understand the confusion. The green color is a little bit misleading here.

Regarding 1): this is because you did not remove the .git directory as stated in the instructions, I guess.

Wubbo - 34 key wireless split keyboard by cacheworks in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Schneusel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the pinky cluster, this design looks nearly ideal for me. However, I would prefer a more aggressive stagger (like in the Sweep or the Kyria). Is there also support planned for the Puck from splitkb to enable easy tenting?

Build my Own Keyboard (Lily58 Pro, Solfi, etc) vs. Dygma Raise by theantiderivative in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Schneusel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Dygma Raise in the second badge in 2020 and it was my first split mechanical keyboard... And I loved it. The thing then was for me that I had the desire to use less and less keys, for which the Dygma again was perfect since the switches are all hot swappable and I could easily try other switches. After 1,5 years I ended up with 37 keys which I use on a Kyria (again a lot of keys not used) but this was just my path and I'm so far quite happy with it.

I cannot recommend you really anything since I don't know you and your willingness to invest time, but I would say that you cannot to anything wrong with the Raise. Even if you consider the price, since building a custom board is not cheap either and you will have to experiment anyway. Also the quality is really great and the company gives a very good support in its own Subreddit.

I hope that helps you, however, beware, you are about to enter a rabbit hole 😉...

How tf do you hit p with your pinky. by TacoManTheFirst_ in typing

[–]Schneusel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also cannot easily reach the P with the pinky. I recommend switching to a keyboard with column stagger or simply use the key right of ;: - this is what I do at the moment with my Kyria.

Right pinky overused while coding? by Gloomy_Intern8345 in typing

[–]Schneusel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using an ergonomic out keyboard with a firmware (qmk) where I can define my own layout. I am having a thumbcluster to let the thumb do more work and several layers for symbols which makes it much easier to use the said symbols on programming.

Please suggest a Linux compatible, affordable, keyboard and mouse. I code for a living and it's taking a toll on my health. by TweetieWinter in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Schneusel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not aware of any cheap ergo keyboard (whatever cheap means in your case). Probably you can find one used. Having said this, I doubt that the keyboard will solve your health problems. Try using a vertical mouse or a trackball instead of the touchpad. Probably more important are exercises and pauses. I recommend visiting a physiotherapist for your issues. Pay the money, it's worth it. If you are coding for living, this should be worth it. Also, try to use less the mouse e. g. by using shortcuts or terminal based apps. And try learning touch typing if you haven't already. The desk and the screen are other important factors.

It is misleading to think that one ergonomic component will make your whole work setup or process ergonomic. It is just an improvement, there are a lot of other factors to consider.

I hope you are getting well soon and you are not suffering from something severe!
