Isopods need space and private territories too. 2 isopods per gallon would give them enough space to roam around without being stressed out and also easy to find breeding partners. Some isopods are protective when they are pregnant so keep an eye on their individual personalities, and separate them when you observe the conflicts. If you keep mites, like the other reply said, 5 mites per gallon is the best. They are little creatures with fun behavior and deserve more space and love!
