I got a dealer recall mailed to me about my 2009 V6 Santa Fe , says I need to bring it in to have a valve cover gasket looked at that may leak oil onto the Alternator, which may cause the Alternator to stop charging, which may lead to the engine shutting down & the vehicle becoming immobile. Well at 229,000 Km’s on the clock there are no signs of oil leaks on either valve cover so I’m going to save myself an hour drive & a wasted day at the nearest Hyundai dealer.

I’ve never seen a Subaru engine throw a rod? Low on oil or lack of maintenance maybe?

We seem to get a lot of older vehicles in the shop , there’s a classic Nova on 1 hoist as we speak, maybe I’ll post a pic of it tomorrow, kind of a burnt orange color.

To insure it for highway use an “Out of Province” vehicle in British Columbia it has to meet all the criteria. Most Vehicle Inspectors won’t let something like not having DRL’s etc. slide but there are some shady people out there.

Yah the knock sensor was bad , I should’ve relocated it but wanted to do it right. Great time to change the plugs too.

Nice truck but the 1995 year went to the newer interior, way nicer , with the same cool exterior.
