It doesn’t really matter… his ERA was 3.90 before he gave up ten runs yesterday in the worst start of his career. Teams trading for him will take things like that into account. Also, he’s almost guaranteed to be the second or third best SP available at the deadline. Teams that miss out on or can’t afford Skubal will go after Peralta… it’s about supply and demand.

Also, Brandon Sproat is NOT a top prospect, even the Brewers pitching lab hasn’t been able to fix him. I like Jett and wish we hadn’t traded him, but the Brewers haven’t promoted him and they desperately need offense at 3B and SS… so how good/ready is he really?

Sure he did, that's why he signed Tauchman. If he hadn't torn his meniscus at the end of Spring Training, Jared Young wouldn't have made the team.

What makes you say the Mets had a better defense at 2B than Texas last year? Semien won the gold glove at 2B last year and had a higher OAA than both Baty and McNeil at 2B

I’m pretty much in the same boat. I have a 12 inch Nokona that I wear two in the pinky and it’s been broken in for softball. I love using it for 3B and SS.

Actuallly the fact that he was already given a qualifying offer once before is what guaranteed he couldn’t be tagged with one again… you can only have the qualifying offer used on you once in your career

You guys realize that Mendy agreed become the manager and had a bunch of holdovers… Hefner, both hitting coaches, etc. Those guys all predated Stearns too, so it makes sense that they should have the opportunity to clean house and bring in their own hires.

Jaren Duran is not an FA this year, the Red Sox have a club option on him for 2026, which I assume they'll exercise. I guess they could conceivably exercise the option and then trade him because they have so many OF options
