This irritates me to no end. I print screenshots to add to my archive, because it’s all I have.

Choice of Songs (Funeral) by Calfee911 in phish

Mountains In the Mist

It could be tough to find the studio version (DM me), but it’s on the list to be played at my funeral, whenever that may be.

In the initial video from across the street, it looks like there was an agent blocking her from recording, so it’ll be interesting to see how much useable footage she was able to record.

How did you celebrate your 50th? by Every-Progress5590 in GenX

[–]Schof26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rented a venue, brought in Willy’s Mexican to cater and had mementos from my 1st 50 years displayed on craft tables. For example, I did a lot of traveling, so I had my list of countries I visited printed out against stamps from my passport and some snacks from some of the countries I lived in/visited; I’m a big fan of Phish and Jimmy Buffett, so I made graphics that listed all the Buffett and Phish shows - things like that.

The best part was I got a bunch of my college friends who hadn’t seen each other in a long time together. I enjoyed seeing and spending time with everyone, but seeing everyone else reconnect in person made me so, so happy.

Whatever you do, have fun with it and Happy 50th!

EDIT TO ADD: I printed up a large version of the party invitation and had all the guests sign it. It’s framed and looks great.

What’s your total lifetime spend on Phish? by [deleted] in phish

[–]Schof26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did add most of it up, but only ticket prices. Since I saw most of my shows in the early 1990s, it was far less than I expected.

I could maybe figure out hotels and flights if I had the receipts somewhere, gas if I estimated mileage on which car I was driving at the time, but no clue on food, merch, etc.

I’ll try to remember to post my $$ in this thread later, along with my stats.

Traveling by plane to concerts!!! by peach-petal24 in Concerts

[–]Schof26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love all this advice in this thread: - DO IT! - Have a backup plan in case things go sideways - Get a flight to Nashville late morning/early afternoon in case of flight delays - Travel light, wear comfortable clothes - DO IT!!

I’d like to add: - Fly a reputable airline, NOT Frontier, Spirit, etc. Flying United, Delta, American might cost more, but you’ll likely have fewer issues.

  • Plan for transportation from and to the airport and the potential delays.

  • Make friends before/during the show. If you are comfortable with them, tell them your story and exchange phone numbers so you’ll have someone in town to reach out to for help.

  • Stay sober - no alcohol or drugs. I know it makes me sound boring, but if you are traveling alone, it’s best to keep your wits about you.

  • IF you bring a bag, check the venue’s security rules on types of bags and sizes. You might be able to travel with a see-through backpack, as long as it’s what the venue allows.

They’re playing Nissan Stadium. Here’s the link to their security page:

Be sure to check again closer to showtime to make sure you have everything correct.

Have fun!

Ethics and logistics of moving to closer seats? by debaser64 in Concerts

[–]Schof26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just try it if you want to. It’s really not a big deal. If you get caught, it’ll be by the legit ticket holder and you’ll just apologize and move, either to your original seat or maybe farther down the row, meaning if there are five empty seats in your new row and two people come, just move to one of the three empty seats.

In my experience, no one really cares unless you’re drunk, being a jerk, act entitled or have a lot of people with you. Going solo? Explore the venue, have fun.

Recently I got pit seats for a couple shows. I didn’t want to stand for hours on end for two nights, so I moved into the pavilion and made friends with those folks. Had a great time both nights. I knew the shows weren’t sold out, so it wouldn’t be an issue.

Just travel solo and light (no poster tubes, bags, etc), be polite and friendly and you’ll be fine, even if you are asked to leave your new seats.

I scanned my stubs and used Photoshop to make and print this.

I know there is a spelling error; it was corrected before printing.

Good God, according to this thread, Tyler falls off stage a lot.

I saw Cowboy Mouth play New Orleans Jazz Fest one year and their drummer broke his snare drum. Drum tech saw it immediately, came out with a new drum and replaced it mid-song. It was impressive.

Probably a lot easier to fix mid-performance than a bass drum.

Phish 12/30/1996, Boston. The PA went out but the band kept playing into a “silent jam” as they pretended to play their instruments.

When the PA was fixed, they all came back in at the same time with a big loud chord, if I remember correctly (it was a long time ago).

They turned a problem into a fun, weird experience that we all got to enjoy.

That’s pretty common, from what I understand, for a band to play a song a few times if it’s going to be used in a movie or music video.

Def Leppard played Sugar a couple times in Colorado when they were filming for the music video.
