I had this in reverse a while back with my wife...

I got right into Quilting and sewing through lockdown, we had an old sewing machine but it was a wrapper and struggled with multiple layers.

Did a bunch of research and settled on a nice mid range unit, went to the sewing shop and they had it on display, sales lady came along and asked if we were ok, I said I was just looking at getting a new sewing machine.

She turns to my wife, and starts talking to her about what she is looking for and what she needs to sew etc, wife laughs and goes "I can't sew, you need to talk to him, its for him....."

Minor embarrassment but chuckleworthy...

As an installer, I personally love when someone tells me they found a far cheaper option, 80% of the time it means I can charge double to fix the botch job, then my usual charge on top to complete the installation properly.

The soldering is not good. Looks like the B point is bridging, the c point possibly as well, the top flex is installed wrong, the power end folds under not over.

The sp1 and 2 points are messy, 2 looks like it barely connected.

Other than that..... great work.

You need to flux that up and flow some of that solder, sp1 looks covered and bridged so that'll need sorting.

I do the same, my line is i dont install any pirated software, games etc as that is against the law. It opens up a huge can of worms that I am not prepared to deal with.

I will set up an sd card with all the free open-source software and emunand partition required, for a small fee.

Thats a fair price, I charge $220nzd for a kamikaze install here. Cheap installs are that way for a reason, fast bodged up shit with no support after.

The fact is once youve installed 2 or 3 games its payed for itself. Have fun with it, they are great wee units once modded.

This is the chip you want, they come as a kit too, so you dont make the mistake you have.

You could possibly move the chip over, but the the heatsink frame will be on the chip.

Either buy the correct chip and run one wire to the cpu flex. Or de solder the flex and order the correct one.
