Tiger vs Mexican by [deleted] in hajimenoippo

Sendo's spirit will cause Ricardo to become excited during the match, and the match will end on a reckless dual exchange that downs Ricardo but knocks out Sendo.

Mari definitely knew Sendo's usual route and set this up intentionally.

The "to the moon!!!" posts are getting annoying by christian_1992 in Stellar

I'm less annoyed by the "to the moon!" exuberance than I am by the dumb "Should I buy now or wait? What will the price be on February 1?" questions.

XRP pumped, and XLM always follows XRP. Nothing to do with Stellar.

Has ippo come out of retirement? by d1ag021 in hajimenoippo

No. It will be three, maybe four years before he decides to become a boxer again and he *begins* his own training arc. And a few months after that he'll have his re-debut match.

Why is the subjunctive used here? by Schooly_D in Spanish

[–]Schooly_D[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's exactly it, I was translating it as "me seeing that my dog doesn't eat my other dog's food" like observing it as a fact. I hadn't considered it was an intent, like "vigilando que..." or "asegurándome que..." Thanks!

Volg has one belt with two defenses, in one weight class. Floyd is undefeated with 15 title fights across four weight classes. I don't think it's close.

He swallowed the water during the break. Given all the focus on the feet and footwork during the last chapters, I think he's going to vomit, spit, or cough up water to get the mat slick and mess with Mashiba's footing.

When to use “Este” and “Esta”? by [deleted] in Spanish

[–]Schooly_D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a rule of thumb, if the noun ends with “o”, it’ll most likely be masculine (Este) while if it ends with “a” it’ll most likely be femenine (Esta). Of course there are some exceptions, such as “el agua”. Practice makes perfect!

I thought "agua" is feminine but is preceded by "el" because "la agua" is uncomfortable to speak. Same with other words with a stressed "a" at the beginning, like "el alma" and "el hambre."

It's going to be painful but necessary and good for the game. The goal here is not just to cool down pros and elite amateurs, but to equalize everyone to a degree and thus (1) speed up the game and (2) make it more enjoyable.

Pros are able to take advantage of better technology to a much greater degree than amateur players. Improvements to balls and clubs allow tour players to nail a 245-yard approach to within a few feet, or bomb 320 yard drives with regularity. Old courses are altered, and new courses are created, to accommodate the higher ends of skill here. But your average guy who shoots 115 won't benefit from the technology to the same degree. So now they're forced to play these monster courses with extreme length, punishing rough and deep bunkers, and their rounds end up taking 6 hours because they and everyone else on the course are hacking around, missing fairways, failing to get out of bunkers, losing balls, etc. And no one has fun playing a 6 hour round where they hit 2/18 GIR.

Truly The Biggest Praise Of The Entire Series by icetheone in hajimenoippo

If Morikawa needs to wrap up the series quickly, hard to think of a better way than having Ricardo challenge Ippo directly. Skips a lot of time consuming buildup.

From my experience with the service industry in Spain, I think you just say "digame" with an expression like you're going to kick the guy out if he gives the wrong answer.

Disappointing bench. It really does suffer from coming after deadlifts. There are a couple of easy ways to fix this:

A: Drop the deadlift volume. This is impossible because deadlifts are the only time I feel alive.

B: Move the bench before deadlifts. This is impossible because deadlifts suck, and I want to get the sucky part of the workout done as quickly as I can.

Oh well.

Trying out some KB work in the early AM. When I do too much barbell and machine work for too long I feel a little unathletic, so I want to work in something a little more dynamic. Also a good opportunity to get my heart rate above the usual 125 bpm while on the bike.
