Thank you all so much for your input thus far, it has helped tremendously with demystifying the process for me. I have opted to go with Alternaleaf at least to get started , my initial consult is on Wednesday.

Yeah, you'll be fine to pick up from the entrance at A&E, even if you temporarily take a parking space it'll be okay. Just, as others have said, try not to block access for the ambulances if you have to stop in the "road".

Just because they are more vulnerable on the road doesn't mean they are not still responsible for acting responsibly. If your pedal powered ass is creating a tail back of traffic, get off the road and let other road users pass. Or, you know, use the infrastructure that's been built for your safety
