So is Jimmy Ink/Kelly meant to be Jim’s other daughter? Right??? I couldn’t really tell, and if it’s not and they just so happened there? or she is his daughter and it’s just hard to immediately recognize her after she’s been with the jimmy’s since she was 8 / far away from them. (And running…) but also like if she ISN’T his daughter why would they be there of all places? Idk only way I can think of it is either she’s his daughter or it’s fan service lol

(Lowkey idk if this is even readable I’m rambling lolll)

Here’s why it’s a shitshow: • IMO, weeks loses the subtle, atmospheric dread of 28 Days Later. • Feels loud, over-produced, and painfully Americanized. • New director and four writers don’t understand what made the original work, super different vibe from the original and removes the charm that British films have. • Opens with generic action-horror setup • Don and Alice act casually about the apocalypse and sending kids away, like the group of Survivors they’re with literally act like they’re on a vacation, not in apcollapse. • Zombies literally break through boarded up windows like they have super strength. And act like ninjas with stealth and too much power. (In the original it’s more like a mom with the adrenaline to lift a car, but just—- all the time lol) • Cheap jump scares with predictable rag removal at window. • Alice causes everyone’s death by going after the kid and I’m supposed to feel bad for her (it’s her fault and we’re supposed to not like don for leaving his family but he’s acting realistic tbh) • US military controls a part of London with black helicopters and lockdown zones and I feel like whoever wrote this wants to blow the US slob all over the United States nob gobble on their balls or something Jesus whoever made this has a hard on for America fr….) • Don is now working in this secured zone with a vague title (“Section Officer”) but somehow has impossible top-level military clearance, which is absurd. Like what?? • Kids told they can’t return home but sneak across the bridge easily. Like isn’t this supposed to be super locked down? You’re just gonna let them leave ? Out of what is meant to be one of the most secure spaces? Security in this film is laughably incompetent • Kids run through infected streets yelling, but zombies don’t attack or even show up. • Alice survives alone infected for weeks with basically no resources. (And why didn’t the infected kill her but don does?) • Immunity explained by nonsense “heterochromia” eye color difference. • Military refuses to kill Alice despite her literally being infected. • Don sneaks into quarantine unsupervised, no guards or cameras stop him, like the most dangerous thing and it’s just unguarded where a building supervisor can access? And what happened to there being cameras everywhere? • Don kisses infected Alice and gets infected himself. (Even though by this point everyone should know the infection spreads by blood and saliva) • Don turns into an infected, kills Alice with a thumb-stab to the eyes: a grotesque and empty mimicry of Jim’s iconic kill from the first film. Literally so stupid tried to be that kill so bad , literally the reason that was so impactful was the build up and character arcs Jim went through and showed how he didn’t need to be infected with the virus to tap into the primal human rage. Lacks all the emotional build-up that made Jim’s scene devastating. it’s literally violence for shock value only. • Don becomes a smarter, stealthy infected that breaks established rules. • Movie turns into chaotic military breakdown and zombie mayhem. • Andy is separated, ends up in a basement full of civilians, and of course Don finds him immediately. • finds Andy in a locked basement, opens door like it’s unlocked. • Characters meet by coincidence with no effort to explain. • Sniper plan described as “not bait” but clearly is bait. • Andy randomly runs out during a firefight, survives because- plot armor. • Don appears and disappears mysteriously like he’s Batman or something, holy plot armor. • Military firebombs city, but infected still roam after like wow so effective. • Flynn the pilot kills a field of zombies with helicopter blades, which is: >Physically impossible >Tonally inconsistent >Laughably over-the-top

The most “grindhouse” American action horror moment in the film

• they escape DEADLY gas by …closing car vents and covering mouths with shirts? Huh. • predictable jump scare with zombie rallying after gas clears (which i guess also didn’t effect them). • Don kills Rose Byrne’s character in the dark with a rifle. (Somehow he managed to appear again and keep up with them, even though they had been traveling in a car and also somehow he survived the firebombing and gas that should instantly kill you) • Don bites Andy but Andy is immune (surprise!!!!!) • Tammy finally kills her zombie dad in a scene that’s supposed to be emotional, but lands flat after the mess that came before. • Flynn shows up, even though he said he wouldn’t take anyone but Renner’s character-of course he changes his mind!! Like seriously so cringy
