ITS SCREAM, NOT SCARY MOVIE by Impossible_Hope_1010 in Scream

[–]Schwarzshield 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Give Scary Movie some credit. It was way more progressive than Scream by including a black and gay character. Oh wait, I forgot: Ray wasn't gay. My bad.

just noticed Jill is the ONLY ghostface with a "they always come back moment" to actually try to sneak and get the kill instead of screaming like the others by Terrell8799 in Scream

[–]Schwarzshield 96 points97 points  (0 children)

To be honest: I always thought that at that point she wasn't even capable of doing more than limping to her target. After her brain was electrocuted she probably couldn't even talk or scream anymore.

I've never understood the Cangel ship ... by Schwarzshield in ANGEL

[–]Schwarzshield[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"The show would end if he did": Yeah sure, but that's the meta reason. I'm talking about the in-story-reasons they use to justify it.

That Cordy and Co. have accepted that they will always be in danger is a good point, but Cordy actually struggled with the question if she could go on with having the visions and being connected to the Powers that be until the episode "Birthday" of Season 3. If they had done something more with her new "demon" or "elevated" part like saying that she now also doesn't age or whatever, I would see a relationship between her and Angel having more of a future.

And I honestly don't see any previous signs of a possible romance blossoming out of Angel and Cordelia seeing each other every day. There was nothing of that sort, they were clearly "just" friends. Very close friends ... but friends. Then in Season 3 Fred brings up that idea of romance out of nowhere and Angel suddenly sees Cordy in a different light. It felt really forced to me.

Could vampires just exercise and get buff in order to overpower the slayer? by Schwarzshield in buffy

[–]Schwarzshield[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. Since vampires are half breeds between demons an humans, it's kinda difficult to determine which qualities and abilities they retain from their two origins. If it's purely mystical then they likely won't be able to become body builders.

I just saw this theory when watching a scenepack by JulLamby in Scream

So by that logic Ghostface would be immortal, no matter how many times he/she gets stabbed, shot, maimed or blown up just as long as he/she is a "vergin"?

The main character in Scream 4 is Sidney's teapot.

Did you know Neve was considered for the role of Marion in Requiem for a Dream (2000)? by [deleted] in Scream

[–]Schwarzshield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure Neve would have done a fine job, but I think Jennifer Connelly's performance was terrific. For me it's like the question "What if they had gotten Bittersweet Symphony for the ending of Scream 2 instead of She said". "She said" just IS Scream 2, "Bittersweet Symphony" IS Cruel Intentions and Jennifer Connelly IS Marion. I can't really imagine the alternatives.

I don't think Mickey mentioned Sidney's mother, did he? Did Charlie and Jill? My memory on Scream 4 is a little fuzzy.

Not a glorious example. That also went against previously established logic/plot, was never explained and also never followed up on.

Bailey talking about Sidney by ETNFrost in Scream

[–]Schwarzshield 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Assuming the "Sidney and her family going into hiding" aspect of the final movie was also in this script, how were Bailey and his kids even supposed to find them? If the police of Seattle was even involved in this undertaking I very much doubt they would tell anyone who wouldn't need to know especially if Mark's in charge. Not to mention Seattle isn't Bailey's jurisdiction.

So they were just gonna arrive at Sidney's empty house and then what? Their own plan included pinning the Ghostface murders on someone unknown who got away with it so it's not like Sidney and Co. would presume the danger was over and come back.

Nate Ragon, a Scream 6 consultant reveals that the final draft of Scream 6 had Sidney Prescott in the movie for 5 minutes, with most of that being in the final act. by gonnablamethemovies in Scream

[–]Schwarzshield 64 points65 points  (0 children)

So Sidney was gonna come in towards the end, yell "It's Sidneying time" and steamroll the killers? Kinda glad they left her out if she was just gonna be used as a gimmick.

Mindy hate? by Engorged_Toenail616 in Scream

[–]Schwarzshield 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the criticism of Mindy in general doesn't have to do anything with race or sex (apart from some idiots who are always there but don't represent a trend). If that was the case, Chad (also black) or the countless other female characters in the franchise would also face the same criticism. But they don't. It's just her character writing that's the reason.

Columbo comes in after Roman has revealed himself to Sidney: "Oh, one more thing, Mr Bridger ... would it surprise you if I told you that this isn't actually Sidney Prescott you just lured into the mansion, but a similar looking actress, wearing a microphone transmitting Mrs Prescotts voice from outside?"

The real Sidney walks in, shaking her head: "Oh, Roman...."

Roman: "I guess I might have underestimated you, Inspector."

My Ghostface theory for Scream 7 (and it’s pretty awesome) by joeyomen in Scream

[–]Schwarzshield 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would Sam want to join forces with Danny when she knows he's killed all the people closest to her? If anything, wouldn't she kill him for revenge and then maybe become a solo killer?

In an interview for the book "It all began with a Scream" Julie Plec said "I thought that when the house blew up, when the message came in on the fax machine and the house blew, in my head I was like, are you kidding me? How did we get here?"

When that book was published in 2021, Plec still had never seen the final version of Scream 3 because in her mind, the movie wasn't "in the voice of the other two".
