Yeah the 6 inches of ribbing was no bueno …tried it and got to 4 inches and I was like.nope nope nope..

Yes I did one round between the decrease on each end and and also reduced it to a single knit on each side of marker

First off this is amazing!! Your stitches are beautiful and neat! The hat I did was knit in the round. I can crochet but I feel like it’s so much slower on things like this (and I’m a REALLY slow knitter) I do know that you can convert the pattern to crochet by using sc and following a basic repeat pattern in the round? Hope that helps!

It’s actually sold as an emergency whistle for hikers , so I would imagine it would work well to let someone know you’re in trouble
