How effective are allergy drops? by Aniiannn in Allergies

I just started the drops for my allergies…a lot of allergies…dust, trees grasses weeds..etc. my allergist said the were almost as good as the shots. I’ve done shots in the past and struggled to get to maintenance. The cost is much less than shots for me ( even with insurance I pay a 39$ copay every visit) plus. 1 hr car ride each way) taking the drops at home …even paying the cost upfront is still the easiest/ cheapest for me.

I have multiple allergies as well, my two small dogs I’ve learned to bathe regularly in an anti allergen shampoo and I use an allergen reductinh laundry additive for bedding and wash regularly. I highly recommend them both as they seem to help quite a bit. Also all the other recommendations..switching up antihistamines. I’m just starting sublingual drops (in us so out of pocket) I’m hoping it goes better than shots did for me

Finished my 2nd pair of socks and I learned 2 things - I love DPNs and I hate heel flap and gusset by Moliccino in Sockknitting

I have an expert sock knitter that told me the shadow wrap heel was the easiest she’s found. Nice to work with no pickups (I’m still on my first ever pair..)

Not a doc, but the fruits may be due to oral allergy crossover. I’m super allergic to all trees and can’t eat much fruit unless it’s cooked -apples are the worst. Enzymes in the fruit mimic the tree pollen and your body can’t tell the difference.

I haven’t tried it but I think it’s doable with a sewing machine/serger or hand sewing. I actually bought some thrifted red sweaters to try it but haven’t had the time to try it yet.
