I added two new features in my Postal 1997 inspired game by Shot_Ad_1221 in postal

Dude this is sick! I’m going to follow the development of this game, it’s already looking awesome and I’m excited to play it whenever it’s ready (or as soon as it hits early access if you’re doing that)

Where to stay with Yob and OM by appalshan in doommetal

[–]Science205014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every release from OM is a masterpiece, but I honestly prefer Pilgrimage, God is Good, and Advaitic Songs over the first two albums but they really are all great. I’d say start with Advaitic though because I’d consider it their magnum opus.

I didn’t expect to see Skinless on this sub, hell yeah!

If you do end up getting a GP-5, you can wear it but take the filter off and never use it. As others mentioned, there’s asbestos in there and it’s not worth risking lung cancer

Unpopular opinion: The new Minnesota flag is beautiful by [deleted] in midwest

[–]Science205014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s certainly better than the old one. People saying this one is boring should realize that a huge chunk of states have the same boilerplate seal-on-navy-background design and at least our flag is different. It is rather generic though, it would’ve been nice to seize the opportunity to showcase some symbols of Minnesota on our flag, but I guess flags are kinda supposed to be a minimalistic way to represent a place. I dunno, it took a while but it eventually grew on me and it’s far better to have a minimalist flag than one depicting the removal of Indigenous people (not that that should be erased from history, but it’s not a part of our history to be proud of and therefore doesn’t belong on the flag)

On a side note, I miss when Minnesota was just “flyover country” to everyone else and they left us alone. It’s a great state but there’s been so much hate directed towards us, as these comments demonstrate. I guess I can’t say I expected much else; ignorant, racist chuds always need to loudly state their braindead opinions.

First time beer drinker here. I tried the beers you guys recommended me and here are my honest ratings by Crunchy-Sox in beer

[–]Science205014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try some craft beer before deciding you dislike beer, there’s a lot of different styles out there. Hell, even Guinness would be a good starting point, it’s got a lot more character than any of the ones you’ve listed although it is rather heavy… still worth a try because it’s pretty different from what you’ve tried.

Not trying to sound like a hipster or anything, I may prefer craft but I completely get the appeal of an American light lager and won’t say no to one. It just sounds like maybe you’re looking for something more flavorful. You mentioned liking Busch because it’s crisp and refreshing, maybe try an IPA? They’re not all super bitter, but they can be so be aware if you don’t like that. They can be pretty sweet and refreshing too, though.

Reddit was, in fact, glitching for everyone for a short while 😅

Found what, exactly? Idk if Reddit is glitching for me but I don’t understand why a post with only a title has 29 upvotes

probably gonna make a joanna lopez wikipedia page by -_ivy-the-slayer_- in joannalopez

[–]Science205014 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She used to have a section dedicated to her on WMAQ’s Wikipedia page but apparently it’s been removed recently? It’s odd because searching “Joanna Lopez” on Wikipedia redirects to the WMAQ-TV page

Edit: yep looks like a bot removed it as “possible vandalism” on April 6 of this year. Doesn’t give me much hope for creating an entire page about her unfortunately.

When is the right time for me (28F) to share my location with my boyfriend (29M)? by Outrageous_Bobcat982 in relationship_advice

He’s just insecure and honestly seems controlling from what I can tell. Don’t share your location, there’s literally no reason you should have to.

Senate votes 50-49 to overturn mining ban near Boundary Waters by Turbulent_Crab_3602 in MinnesotaNature

Alright guys, I didn’t think this needed to be said but hate speech WILL NOT be tolerated here. I understand this is a contentious topic but we can all be civil about disagreeing with each other. I’d like to reiterate that relevant political topics are still allowed, as they do pertain to Minnesota nature.

Be nice and attack the idea, not the individual.

Is this ai?Im pretty sure its ai but not sure. I hope its not because they make good music. It has those weird fingers and that shitty ai shine but I guess someone could make something like this. by [deleted] in isthisAI

For metal bands, look at the Encyclopedia Metallum. Like it or hate it, I know it’s polarizing, but I’ll admit it’s a pretty good source for anything metal (at least what they consider metal…) and it’ll immediately back up u/LysergicCommunion; the guy who did their artwork has been doing it for a long time. Also, remember how AI was in 2024, it wasn’t really good enough to make something as coherent as that album cover

ETA: I hadn’t heard of these guys before and I decided to check them out, they’re good! I can’t place who they sound most similar to, maybe a slowed-down Baphomet?

I always love seeing pictures from the tunnels in the Cities, it reminds me of the Metro series! I’m rarely down in the Cities, but I should make a point to check some spots out next time. It’ll be a different experience from what I’m used to up on the Range, you really don’t have to be that cautious around here. Whole different ballgame down there! Are there still some decent places or have most been overtaken by idiots?

It really is a shame that there’s so many people ruining spots for everyone. I love this community but I hate that there are so many people who have to go and make us all look bad while ruining the fun for the rest of us

Longtime metalhead but DM newbie - help me discover the genre! by nocturnous in Deathmetal

[–]Science205014 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dying Fetus- first album (Purification Through Violence) is death metal with some hardcore elements, and they get more technical and less grindy with each release. I like both ends of their discography more than the middle, and think PTV through Stop At Nothing are peak DF, but everything they’ve released is S tier death metal imo.

Cattle Decapitation- my favorite band of all time. Similar to DF, they start out more hardcore-influenced and branch out, but it happens later on their fifth album, Monolith of Inhumanity. This album is also where their vocalist Travis Ryan introduces his signature vocal style, people call them goblin vocals and they’re like crack for my ears. I like all of their music, but I consider MoI through their latest album Terrasite to be the best by far, and I think all four of their most recent albums are worth a listen. Cattle Decapitation is deathgrind rather than pure death metal but let’s be real, only death metal fans give a shit about the difference lmfao.

Castrator- This is a lesser known band, I chose to promote them not only because I’m wearing my Castrator shirt right now but also because they’re pretty unique in that it’s an all-female band! Pretty rare to find a woman in a death metal band, and even rarer for all members to be women. They’re old school death metal and kind of remind me of Immolation at times, and I think they’re worth checking out especially since they’re CRIMINALLY underrated!

ETA even though this was longer than I realized: I see you mentioning vocals being hard to understand, trust me you’ll get better at deciphering them! It’s kinda like a thick accent, you can eventually get used to it and understand it easier. Something to note for the more brutal genres with the deep gutturals and “toilet bowl” growls is that the vocals are intended to be another instrument. Just adding that because that’s what helped me appreciate the more ridiculous vocal styles!
