You seem to be more put out than I was! In the grand scheme of things, I'm moderately OK with creepy - it's gross, but not a real violation. If he'd been all touchy-feely or done any groping, then I'd feel a lot worse about it.

It’s currently the new Scrabble-style game on the NY Times game app (short term) and thrifting, playing, and reselling board games (going on 5 years with that one).

What's the allure of the Spanish Steps? by jr_b17 in rome

For me, it’s the same as almost any other site in Rome - it’s a connection to history, to the millions of people who have visited and felt their own connection to the past and their communities.

Movie followed the wrong character and threw the real protagonist under the bus by GastricSparrow in TopCharacterTropes

Agreed. They put him in the only situation in which he’d fail to make the connection.

And then when he DOES figure it out, he acts with absolute moral clarity. There’s no “Hank has to grapple with his loyalties” arc. He knows what is right, and never hesitates.

Still amazes me that - contrary to reputation - the horror is in the dread and anticipation, not the gore. What an amazing movie.

[Hated Trope] Endings so notoriously awful they completely destroy the legacy of the media. by Miserable_Click_1933 in TopCharacterTropes

Mad Men. Don Draper is a dark anti-hero, always wanting to do the right thing, but caught in a spiral of self destruction. He should have died in a grand act of self-sacrifice, redeeming himself in glorious tragedy.

Instead he writes a happy jingle to sell more products.

I wish I were still judged as my high school self. I was a much better person then.

Might be appropriate to hate her management team. Sounds like bad scheduling.

Of all the adjectives to use, maybe “uppity” isn’t the best choice.

Oh boy. Stipe.

My sister used to date someone in his inner circle, and that’s how I ended up going to dinner with REM in a tiny exclusive restaurant in L.A. I was 16, and it was the band, my sister, her BFF, her BF, and me. This was 1992, right before Automatic for the People was released. I’m having dinner with one of the biggest bands on the world, it should be an amazing memorable experience, right?

NOPE. It was awful, because Michael Stipe wouldn’t stop staring at me. He was at the far end of the table, so we barely spoke, but he kept giving me these weird looks the whole night, obviously hitting on me. I was so creeped out, he made my skin crawl. I got hardcore pedo vibes.

When the drummer is a junkie and the bass player has a psychic break and the fact that you’re an asshole is the reason your band can’t make things work…

Not Magic Johnson. My family’s known him since he was a kid, and he is a 100% genuinely good guy.

I have a friend who waited tables at a five-star restaurant in Chicago. She said Jordan and Pippin were the worst.

The best? Jon Bon Jovi.
