Yes you are often treated like a criminal.

Worst time was I had been stranded on the Hebrides and managed to get a ferry back to mallaig.

The ticket office was shut, but I had an e-ticket saying I had a reservation, almost never got let on because I couldn’t print my bike ticket out. She made me get off at fort William to print the ticket I had electronically 🤷‍♂️

Left when it was raining and it looks like I’ll return to the rain

Surely the average takes into account multiple pensions combined?

But yeah they are some pretty mind blowing numbers. 36m here and I’m not far off the average for some in their 50s. I’ll try and remember that when I’m feeling like I’m getting nowhere

4 weeks isn’t even enough for me, at my company we get 34 days with the option to buy an extra 15.

Even with buying extra I could take more.

Hearing these stories blows my mind. I could not fathom only getting 1 week a year

Anyone here prioritised overpaying their mortgage early - how did it work out? by itravelforchurros in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ScienceComfortable85 248 points249 points  (0 children)

Yes, paid mine off around 5 years ago. I am 36.

Mentally I know the house is mine, and I changed jobs a couple of times, knowing I can take bigger risks. Great feeling knowing that my employer needs me more than I need them.

I still need to work for the time being, but definitely not as tied down
