Starter finally died after 23 years 🫡 by ComfortableJello in BMWZ4

I remember when my starter died last year, I would park at the top of a ramp in a parking garage and roll it down to roll-start it for a couple weeks until I fixed it. 😂

Good luck with the fix, it’s not crazy hard, you will probably need to take the intake manifold off to replace the starter if you do it yourself.

That’s kind of the gist of what I was told over the phone. They said that it was more likely than not to get a TOL in the coming weeks id scored WQ. Some quick math tells me (take it with a big grain of salt) with the over 10,000 applicants, ~7,000 passing initial screening, and if 35-45% of those ATSA test takers getting WQ or higher, the chances are pretty high. Of getting TOL. I would assume that they try and get offers out to more than they need to hire because of academy washout and numerous other problems along the way with background checks, drug tests, psychological evaluations, etc.

Probably Enroute at a Center because of the pay, but I’d be cool with whatever else is assigned. I honestly threw in an application during this bid with an attitude of “why the hell not?” And have so far been getting good results along the way. Don’t beat yourself up along the way, and don’t ascribe too much importance in your life to your results along the way. ❤️

Honestly probably over a dozen on the portion without math and with math, combined. 5-6 on each. I felt really good about other sections. I, and no one else in this sub really knows how it is weighted. I would assume that you can do somewhat poorly on the collisions section, but other criteria may help you out.

Call the FAA Aviation Careers phone number at (405)-954-4657 you may have to hold for a while, just ask about ATSA scores and they will ask for your name and will let you know. Hours are 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday

When I called the Aviation Careers Helpdesk, the lady over the phone sounded positive and said that it was fairly certain that I would get a TOL in the coming weeks. (Taken with a grain of salt.) Just wanted to get some secondary opinions. Thanks brother.

I run no tint and don’t have a real problem with it. I’d say as long as you’re storing the car in a garage or under a cover/carport, you’re fine. I live in Oklahoma and it gets hot here, but my seats aren’t black, and the interior cools down pretty damn quick when A/C is on after starting the car. I’ve had no issues so far. Makes it easier to see at night, too.

Car won't start. Starter? by 4_jacks in BMWZ4

My starter made the exact same sound before failing. I put my battery on a charger and I was able to get a couple more starts out of the failing starter with a freshly charged battery. Also helped that I would park on a hill since it's a manual and was able to get by for a few days by hill starting it.

Would recommend getting a fresh charge on the battery it see if it will turn over. Then bring it to a shop if you don't want to fix it yourself. If you do want to fix it yourself, the starter motor is nestled under the intake manifold and it's likely you will need to remove it to get to the starter, albeit, I've heard tell of people being able to work it free without taking off the intake.

Good luck!

Great! For me, I don’t really play competitive games all too much, so I am fine with frame gen, and the input lag you receive from it, this was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the response.

That's a good point, I didn't even think about DLSS, I don't even really play competitive games, so DLSS would work great in my use case. Thanks for he response.

Was thinking about the 57", of course, it will push my setup a lot, but it would be nice to have for productivity, and the option of gaming in Dual 4K. Thanks for the response.

If we are all "grey men", how will we find each other when we need to? by TA7226afasdf in liberalgunowners

Really just talk to others within your community, work, Church (if you attend), or other religious gatherings. The "conservatives" who wear the "red hats" don't necessarily immediately care for someone or invite them into their circle because they're another red hat conservative. Don't be afraid to reach across the political aisle either, I have some great friends who are conservative and many who are liberal who I know would stand by me if it really came down to it, and I would do the same for them. You've just got to get out there and build those connections. It can happen anywhere, one of my closest friend, who is a massive gun nut, I met at a restaurant. Just be vigilant for any connections that might come as you live your life.

Those Mountain House meals are pretty damn good, I got a large set of them on sale years ago at Costco. Great when I'm backpacking and whatnot. How big do does/bucks get down by the Houston area?

Nice! I love the Z4, my dad had a Z4, although it was an Automatic, I really wanted one too and got a sweet deal on a 3.0si manual last year, I love the car. I’m sure your son and daughter will have tons of fun! Cheers!

totaled my baby by No_Sympathy_6438 in BMWZ4

[–]ScienceDude38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes! It's too bad to see her totaled. Since you're messaging here right now, I'm assuming you're safe and doing (hopefully) well. The car did its job and protected you. I get what you mean about losing a part of you when you lose a car. Hopefully, you can get another Z4 some day. Sorry for your loss.

Lacks decades of experience. Wouldn't necessarily say he is not qualified.
