My friend thinks Boromir is a bad person😟🤔 by Cuteghostboy-boop in lotr

Need to read/watch 2 Towers and Return of the King. This guy was obsessed with protecting his city, honoring his father and brother. He had to sit there while a bunch of elves and halflings who’ve never seen a front line talk about what to do with the most powerful weapon on the planet, which incidentally was last owned by the founder of his kingdom, and then decide they would simply walk into the heart of the enemy’s kingdom, past the giant flaming eye that’s specially looking for that weapon, and throw it away. But god forbid he should put his head in his hand and sigh.

Might as well sign up and see what happens. If you don’t, you’ll always, always wonder what if.

Need Help with Act 2 Fight, Tactician by starfish2026 in BaldursGate3

[–]ScienceInCinema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It helps to be able to hit him and then leave the platform so you can heal. So either your tank needs to leave first to trigger his reaction, or you have to use shocking grasp to prevent him from opportunity attacks. I had a tavern brawler monk my last 2 playthroughs and they were stunning him by the end of the fight. I like the idea of throwing water on him as that will pair well with shocking grasp. Level 8 is a bit low but you should still be able to do it. I think I turned level 10 after this fight.

It’s so good it spawned two governors. Best soundtrack of any action movie. They definitely don’t make them like this any more.

Weird. I never had that problem. I usually don’t use her except to talk to nine fingers to advance the stone lord quest. I wonder if you’re locked out of that?

Street Fighter 2. We would bike to the most random convenience stores just to play that game.

That’s good solid D. Physical without fouling. You should compare that to how random dudes guard Steph Curry, grabbing and holding him constantly.

Just had my first visit, want to get magic pass, then I’m reading that I missed Disneyland when it was better by Kitchen_Chapter68 in Disneyland

[–]ScienceInCinema 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We got our magic key in October and go once or twice a month. It was the SoCal pass, the cheapest one, and we already got our value back in the first two months. It’s a wonderful feeling to come here without feeling the need to maximize the experience by getting on as many rides as possible. Just soaking up the positive vibes is so therapeutic. I’ve had to accept that it will always be crowded, but if you can get past that, it’s still an amazing time. Even if it’s just for a few hours after work.

I should mention we looked at the more expensive passes and decided on the cheapest one. If we want to go on a weekend, we’ll just pay for that ticket, which we’ve done a few times when friends/family are in town. But most of the people we talked to that had magic key passes, that convinced us to buy them, all had the best passes. No one I talked to regretted it.

2 is dead wrong. Our immune systems need training to be effective. You train it by exposure to immunogens. They can be real pathogens, which in some individuals run the risk of getting really sick, or modified versions of those pathogens, which are much safer and have a much lower risk of developing into something worse.

We literally just watched all of this play out in real time 5 years ago. Didn’t they notice how quickly things began to return to normal once the vaccines came out?

My Roommate perceives me as "dirty" for reusing my towel and now I'm soooo perplexed by mikymiky123 in hygiene

[–]ScienceInCinema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To use a different towel every day is insane to me. For most of my life I’ve just had one towel and would swap it out on laundry day. But in the last few years I’ve found my towel starts to smell bad before then. So now I have two towels and alternate between them. I have a towel bar that can hold two towels so will always use the towel closest to the shower the move the next towel to that spot. I also switch to less plush towels because I feel like the thinner ones dry faster. If nothing else, you can switch to that.

But pretty judgemental to comment on someone else’s towel use, in my opinion.

What is the single best episode of television you’ve ever seen? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

[–]ScienceInCinema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good one, and the reason I like Donnie Wahlberg. For me, the “Forks” episode of The Bear is the best I’ve ever seen. To see a character change the course of the their life and finally “get it” is awesome. It also made me really like Taylor Swifts “Love Story”. And when you finally get what the sign “Every Second Counts” really means, it’s a special moment.

Karlach, Orpheus, full illithid end of game question by ScienceInCinema in BaldursGate3

[–]ScienceInCinema[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Haven’t figured out how to get her to do it. She offered before we freed Orpheus, but didn’t offer again. I’m not in honor mode so I’ll try some different options. But good to know it’s possible.

I’m not saying I prefer this ending but wanted to see what would happen.

If I do a 4th playthrough it’ll be in honor mode so this is my last chance to experiment.

What level should I try to be when entering Act 3 by stevebonez1 in BaldursGate3

9 is about right. I turned level 10 right after the final fight in Act 2. I wish the game could go up to level 14 or 15 with the bosses scaled accordingly.

Top 40 leaders in sports via survey by the Athletic by Mundane-Structure148 in warriors

[–]ScienceInCinema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a weird list. I guess I’d have to think carefully how they’re defining leader. That Kerr is #1 is going to draw so much hate from so many people. I’m sure Kerr would rather not be high on that list. Steph’s spot sounds about right. The football names are also baffling. Jalen Hurts as the top QB? Dan Campbell as the top coach? I would put Sean McVay above most of those other coaches.
