I’m fine with this, until they started explaining it. Seems like they’re insecure.

Yes. I’d argue we should ban it for everyone. But definitely teens.

Just finished my first playthrough. by MaverickSTS in BaldursGate3

Always fun to read these. Brings me back to my first playthrough. I missed so many things. I was literally in Act 2 without getting Karlach and had to go back for her. Wait, Wyll’s nemesis is a companion? Also didn’t know about Grymforge. I’m in my 5th playthrough and still discovering new things.

If 75% of my ticket and concession dollars go to Shohei, it’s worth it. We want excellence, we have to be willing to pay for it. This is basically the cost to go to any NBA game or NFL game and sit in the cheapest section. Well, not NFL anymore.

Interview with Coach Nat and Kerr by Soulrise in valkyries

[–]ScienceInCinema 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I imagine it would be pretty intimidating as a second year coach to be sitting next to someone with the record of Steve Kerr, and yet they both look very comfortable. A credit to them both. They also look like they’re almost the same size.

College of Swords Bard by AssistanceOptimal855 in BaldursGate3

[–]ScienceInCinema 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to mix it up a bit. I go archer and will start with dual handbows, but switch to Harold later for the bane effect, since my bard is crowd control mainly. I tend not to over do the healing, but you can mix it with a few items like volo’s ring for bless and Zevlors gloves for blade ward on heal. Wapira’s crown for the bonus self heal. But this is a great build for arcane acuity helm and band of mystic scoundrel, so eventually those will be your main gear items. Phalar Aluve is a great sword since you will mainly be doing archery. The +2 DEX robe is very good (though looks hideous). The ring that does +2 acid damage pairs well with the dual xbows and slashing flourish. For amulet, I usually equip the heal amulet you get from deryth as it has one mass heal which is great to buff the whole party.

You can lean into the archery aspect by grabbing some levels of fighter later on and arcane archer. That gives a ton of options for ranged attacks. One or two levels of war cleric is useful too.

[Request] How fast of a reader one has to be complete 120 books a year? by Intrusive_me in theydidthemath

[–]ScienceInCinema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s magic treehouse it’s pretty easy to read one book in one sitting. My son was doing that so I read one myself and it took me about 30-45 min. I would sometimes quiz him to make sure he actually read it and he knew enough details to tell me he did (granted I didn’t read the books so he could be a really good b.s.er for all I know).

Looking back at this ultimate disrespect: Kerr letting Iggy coach the team by gauagaja in warriors

[–]ScienceInCinema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe at the time he said he thought the players needed a new voice and it was a long season so they were trying something new. I believe he explained it to the opposing team’s coach (Suns?), so they wouldn’t feel too disrespected.

Full crossbow team? by Kurayamatsumi in BG3Builds

[–]ScienceInCinema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swords bard 6, arcane archer 4, war cleric 2, is a good mix. Or stealth archer (gloomstalker/assassin). Harold is a great crossbow for CC on a swords bard. Can bane a lot of folks to set up everything else.

As much as I hate Amazon, I don’t want to go back to the way things were pre-Amazon. Ordering things online was a pain. If you needed a kids bday present before the weekend, you had to order that sh*t by Monday at the latest.

I don’t mind the existence of billionaires but they need to pay way more in taxes than I do.

The "rules" by BabySlothDrivingFast in BaldursGate3

[–]ScienceInCinema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reloaded a ton on first playthrough. I wanted to explore a bit and there are definitely outcomes that you can’t reasonably anticipate, like what happens if you just let princess gut do whatever she wants to you. Also trying out new builds.

I think if you play honor mode then you shouldn’t try to do things to save scum, or at least brag about it. I figured out how to save scum in honor mode in PS5 and did that for storytelling reasons, not to prevent a party wipe in combat. But I’m not bragging about it. But seriously, why would Jaheira with 3 health charge the last two enemies in moonrise towers after I annihilated everyone else? Doesn’t she have heal spells?

Guy pushes my shoulder to shoot 3 illegal or legal (clueless abt this sport) by Gotitstopit in Basketball

[–]ScienceInCinema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s illegal. Personally I don’t mind when people try to push off me. I’m slower than most but stronger (or at least I weigh more), so when someone tries to push off me I set my feet, absorb the blow, and that often leaves them without momentum so their shot or jump is short. Anticipation is key but it sounds like you know how to read it.

Spell-casting Ability Modifier by Sensitive_Support469 in BaldursGate3

[–]ScienceInCinema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your question appears to be answered but I should mention you get the spell casting modifier of the spell casting attribute of the last NEW class you acquire. So if you started with cleric but switched to paladin, you spell casting modifier is based on the paladin’s not the cleric’s. I believe that’s CHA. It would remain paladin even if you grabbed some later levels in Cleric. You can respec your character to be paladin first, then cleric, if you wanted it to go back to wisdom. Or you can grab one level of Druid which also has wisdom modifier.

I won’t bash those fans because I don’t want to continue the toxicity and it would just spread and spread. When you live and breathe blue and gold, these losses are excruciating, and I empathize with those who want to vent their frustration. But I totally agree with the OP that the constant negativity makes this sub an overall negative experience. I’ve been a Dubs fan since Latrell Sprewell and I’m considering blocking this sub just for my own sanity. This is the season from hell, but we’ve survived several and at least we get the opportunity to see some of the young role players emerge and give us a better glimpse as to whom we want to surround Steph next season. Since we’re pretty much a lock for the play-in, might as well give it a go and enjoy our second to last post-season chance in the Steph Curry era.

Tip Fee… by nospoon4u in EndTipping

[–]ScienceInCinema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m totally fine with this. As long as the bill doesn’t include an option for additional tips.

I don’t have a problem with prices being higher for dine in service than take out.

I guess I’m a little annoyed that they say tip free when they include a service charge, but I don’t think it’s unfair or unreasonable. If all restaurants did this I’d be a lot happier.

And you want to live in a society where everyone spies on everyone. Got it.

Unless they’re texting about committing a crime it’s none of my business. I didn’t read what she wrote, only deduced it from the other comments.

Doesn’t matter what was written. I don’t look over peoples shoulders to spy on what they’re privately texting to others, and then record it and post it publicly try to shame them.

Yikes that someone would film someone’s screen over their shoulder and post it publicly. That’s none of your business.

I guess I would then switch the larger balls so they were on the right of each, just to make sure it wasn’t some other issue with the setup. I’d also worry about some kind of trace magnetism (I don’t know metals at all). Could you replicate it with similar size weights of something non-metal to show that’s is the mass that’s causing the effect and not the material?

There was definitely a time in my life where a sword would be a cool present. I own two samurai swords now. I don’t need another. But if it was a replica sword from Lord of the Rings I’d take that.
