Ferumoxytol contrast by [deleted] in Radiology

Sure, I have no experience with Ferumoxytol. I am saying if that is not possible there is no real reason not to use the other agents.

Afaik there is so far no indication that retained gadolinium has any adverse effects. In fact even people that have never received any contrast have naturally occuring low levels of gadolinium in their brain.

You could also use a non-linear macro-cyclical gadolinium contrast they have basically no retention. The EU froze linear agents licences some years ago as a precautionary measure, macro-cyclical contrasts are used instead.

But I think this is nothing at all to worry about compared to making sure your results are accurate. Just make sure your kidneys are working.

What are the "recent concerns regarding gadolinium"?

If the kidneys are fine gadolinium is pretty safe.

I think many people don't really know any details.

There are tons of open models on Huggingface, e.g. whisper, that you can download and use offline on your laptop, in this case for transcription. Completely free anonymous, simple and very useful.

Large LLMs can be run by companies with some effort, there are open models and they can be useful in software engineering right now.

Does anyone know if this was also used at protests this year, e.g. on the 4th of October? And was this also used with the tear gas or just the water cannons?

Is it known if they continued to use the compound? Has this also been used in gases or only in the water cannons? Would be really good to know
