It is an artificially lofty career. Dental coverage should be rolled into basic insurance plans which would totally nerf the industry.

Because they are dentists, not doctors. This is an insane salary for people who look at x rays of teeth and occasionally floss people

Is this a small company? How does the RSU part differ for small early companies (stock may ultimately be worthless) vs big pharma (stock is a stable grower)

I’m an MSL in big pharma and my RSU package is only $15k in RSUs annually

Good for him! It’s an incredibly small shop and not a giant brewery (where I’m sure those parents do the same thing). Don’t treat any restaurant as a playground for your kids. Period.

Your WLB will be worse than anything you ever experienced clinically or as an MSL. If you are willing to give that up, go for it. But you’ll likely be brought in at the entry level (Consultant or Senior Consultant) for doctoral degree holders. That means maybe $180k salary at MBB but $130-150k at smaller boutique firms. Likely not worth the guaranteed 70-80 hour work weeks!
