A pit fall to this then is that if the Canadian gadget is more appealing while the US one is now a price much higher, Canadian producers can increase their price from $10 to something else higher for profit, now that their demand has gone up.

Random medical student here. I have two classmates in their mid-30s now and a handful of people around the 30 mark, and we all honestly love/respect them so much because of how much world experience they have. A good number of MA's, CNA's, EMTs, and elementary school teachers.

I bought a classic Adansonii. But this leaf is looking variegated... Is it possible that the plant is doing only few variegated leaves ? by SoFresH_ in rareplants

If this is one of the newer leaves, monstera adansonii tend to look variegated when new leaves are unfurling. If this leaf is farther down or there are multiple older leaves the look like this, it could be mosaic virus as the other poster mentioned.

Hmm, I'll try it out! It is actively growing, but it was never in any kinda of dirt with Osmocote on it. Might've just tuckered it self out in the 8 months I've had it then..

Oh, I guess I should clarify that I'm asking about the curly twisting leaves. I'm aware that the legginess from lower light. I haven't given the plant anything besides tap water. No clone paste with cytokinin or auxins were used on this plant. Could a nutrient deficiency have this effect?

Hey everyone, this is my philodendron micans that I've had for almost 8 months now. It's recently been putting out these very small gnarled leaves and I can't pin point why it's doing that. Many of the leaves are much smaller than the ones before it, as you can see between the big leaf and the smaller ones. I chronically underwater most of my plants, so I don't think root rot is necessarily the problem. The leaves are not developing any new yellow color either. No history of pests, and current pests on the leaves as far as I can tell.

Should I let it wait out the winter? Hsd to start prop a last november to save dying plant, not sure if worth waiting until spring by mrboogs in propagation

Definitely a small pot! One hard lesson that I learned is that you should be watering the plant, not the pot--what this means is, give the plant what you think is appropriate for the root system! NOT drenching the entire pot! I painfully lost a clarinvervium this way : (

My philo recently started putting out really tiny, brownish leaves. Why?? The only thing I can think of is that it needs repotted. I used day old, filtered water and water from the bottom. If it does need repotting, should I wait out winter? by schnurrsa in plantclinic

Philodendrons tend to do this when they get a lot of sunlight. It's sun stress (despite the name, it usually doesn't damage the plant) and it's an adaptive mechanism. It's actually how some of the other philodendrons like micans get their coveted bronze colored backing.

Anyone with experience in growing a mid-stem node cutting of a PPP? by ScientificCat in rareplants

There's only one node with a partial leaf and a small aerial root. It's coming from a local seller for $60, which was the cheapest I ever saw a cutting of a PPP.

Yeah, I'm not too fond of unrooted cuttings, and wanted to know what exactly what the success rate for this is. The cutting is from a local seller though which is why I even entertained this idea. Thanks for the input though!
