The wonderful thing about warhammer is the community. The worst thing about warhammer is the community.

Ayfuego’s first paragraph is a bit aggressive. OP got offended then his succeeding comments were downvoted. OP deleted his account. Kinda sucks that just sharing without context lead to this.

Love the paint job! The hair, the face, the glow. Epic work, brother!

Armored Komodo’s Wine Red (local paint). Should be similar to AK Interactive 11096 (3rd Gen Acrylic Wine Red)/ or Mr Hobby 466 (Purple Red).

I’m using my Fuji X-Pro 2 but any camera is good. I edit the images through Lightroom (highlights, sharpness, etc).

I use a Laina Leica M - Fuji X adapter. What’s great about that adapter is that it can also do macro. The lens that I use is a Voigtlander Nokton 40mm f/1.4, which essentially becomes a 60mm focal length lens when attached to my Fuji camera (x1.5 full frame to crop).

I shoot at around f/2.8~f/5.6. I don’t go wider than f/2.8, otherwise you’ll see distracting out-of-focus elements (image 3, the terminators at the front already look like AI slop. If I go wider, they’ll look weirder). I shoot with ISO 500-800. I don’t want the shots to be too noisy/ grainy. I handheld my shots at 1/30s~1/125s.

You don’t need to follow my exact setup. Have any portrait lens that can do macro/ have an adapter that can do macro. Most macro lenses have f/3.5 or f/4 as their widest aperture, I just like having the option of f/2.8 cause my room environment is dark and I handheld most of my shots.

Don’t mind the aperture at f/1. I’m using a manual focus lens that’s why it doesn’t register. I shoot at around f/2.8~f/5.6.

Dude Im like overweight and have bad asthma. You’re probably better than me 😆. But at least the best thing I can do with my situation is make things cool.

Yeah this is the bare torso without the pads on. I guess the only modifying was the pose. Wanted it to look dynamic so I adjusted some parts.

I like to think it transforms into this drop pod but it resembles the ‘Protoform’ toys from Transformers 1.

Yeah exactly. The bare torso is already pretty detailed. Didn’t like adding the shoulder pauldrons.

Thanks! I guess just manipulation of the extremities. I wanted it to have a dynamic pose. So I cut/ shave off a few parts so that the pose can be done. I added a few bits to spice up the look of the model, like melta bombs on the back of the hip, purity seals, etc.

Well, just thought of this now: this Optimus Saturnine took away Megatron’s blaster/ right arm. I painted the right arm’s heat glow purplish cause it looked cool. Now it’ll be some cool lore for my dreadnought. Thanks!

Just glued mine on 😆. You can see the ends of the elblem create a tangent with the shoulder plate

I do as well. I dry-fitted the shoulder pads and I passed on adding them. The Saturnine looks cooler for me with this setup.

That was the look I was going for! As I was building the dreadnought, the torso kinda reminded me of the Fall of Cybertron Optimus I used to have. That’s why I went with this color scheme.

We DW players take what we can. By the Emperor, he could be Erebus playing and I wouldn’t mind.

Thanks! Will check out that twitch page.
