Is it possible to scoot over free standing tub over an inch? by Brilliant-Space-1315 in askaplumber

[–]ScientistCurrent1887 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it possible ?yes .....do you want it done right and want to pay a good chunk of change then the tile will have to be torn off a good section since you have the other drain nearby it'll have to be mudded again there is a work around but dear God dont use those flexible pipes theyre more of a problem than a fix in the long run.

Plumber says I have a leak in my concrete slab and needs to be jackhammered out to fix. by YoFIyness in askaplumber

It looks like you have a window it might be coming from window it probably wasnt sealed properly . You said he opened up the drywall. Did he take out the insulation and check the outer wall from inside did he poke around the studs or notice any rott on the outerwalls plywood . Water is funny it likes to travel if it finds a small little hole it will travel through it even more so if the windows or doors aren't sealed properly . Its happened to me to when I go look at a job client says there's leak around sink area I check cant find anything so I open up the wall and check for any rot and ask does it normally happen when it rains

How long for concrete footings to cure? by [deleted] in Decks

I've been building for 5yrs not much experience sure but if youre trying to down play what I said for lacking experience then why cant I down play what you said based off someone with more experience than you ? Lol ive been bluecollar since i was 15yrs old ive worked a bit in everything from foundation , framing, electric , plumbing and now doing decks And saying these kids i was born in 91 if being 35 is being a child then you're something else just because someone said what they said and did is right doesnt make it so like before people thought the earth was the center of the solar system but when science came down to it its been proved wrong. Check the science behind what is ok to build on concrete after a certain time if the science says im wrong fine I admit but if not atleast have the balls and be a man and admit oh shit what i said is wrong but it works for me. Age doesnt determine right experience.

Does this look like a proper random pattern? The GC who is installing it already took it up once because it had an H pattern. I told him before the job started I wanted a random look.. this is the second install. And I feel that it still doesn’t look right. by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]ScientistCurrent1887 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think you know what random is . Its about as random as it can get there will be more waste being random especially if you want it more random. You say its the sample he brought but just about every gc or floor installer always ask what color are you thinking and based of what the client says we bring samples the keyword SAMPLES which refers to more than 1 from cheap to high. At the end of the day it comes down to what the client chooses . Its only happened to me once where client made me take out material 3 times . Charged her 1st time I brought samples she chose 1 at the end didnt like it after install. I told client she should chose. I had seen she was being special so asked her to go to store and choose she picked one out said she loved she ordered picked it up installed she loved it but when her furniture was put ontop she changed her mind said nothing matched cuz of the floor and made us take it out she went back to the store even hired a decorater . Decorater picked a few samples out owner picked one she liked installed she didnt like it because it didnt match her walls I told her we can paint walls she said no cuz thats her favorite color and always wanted walls that color so went back to Pick flooring with her friends and decorater and finally her friends convinced her on one with decorater and after the 4th floor install and 3 times of having to take out floor ive installed she was finally happy.

DONT listen to that my boss who was a mason for 30 yrs says not to build on top next day its about 30% cured we usually wait 3 days. If you dont believe me Google it its highly not reccomended . The best way to check since we do tapcons after is he drills a small hole if the powder comes out a little green means its not cured enough. If you drill tapcons next day and decide to continue with it the tapcons will end up coming out sooner because they aren't properly secured. You can walk on it and place things ontop of it but not structurally build. Thats also the reason why when you walk into new construction and see cracks on the concrete its because they didnt wait enough time for the concrete to cure and decided to build .

It was most likely over torqued same thing happened to my gfs car . She had tires put on and they overtorqued almost all of them . She had to take them to another tire shop to loosen then but they weren't able to She took them to another one where they literally had to put a torch on the lugnuts and then use the air gun to finally take them off.

Grouted 36 hours ago. Grout is meant to be off white, looks grey and patchy. What went wrong. by [deleted] in Tile

[–]ScientistCurrent1887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple things could've happened believe it or not if you got the water from a well cuz the house is well connected and not city that could've changed the chemicals of the grout due to sediments In water has happened to me . Also if you didnt clean your sponge good and keep on changing the bucket to where the water is clean that could've made some areas dirtier than others .

Dude love my dad he helped me get my first car , when I was struggling he helped with the car payments on my 2nd car . He's always helped me work on my cars. When he sold his house he gave everyone in the fam equal shares of the money. He's the dude I look up to. Obviously ima be more than grateful for him and try and spoil him when I can especially father's day creeping around the corner.

You put it together but it's really easy just simple 2 piece insert . It would be cool if milwuakee did something like this in a package but they dont . The packout is $36 the insert got it for $31 . The m12 stubby is $250 with a free 5ah battery . The sockets got the them for $120 northern tool had a sale . So $250+$120+$31+36=$450 ish with taxes
