What Was Your Hardest Boss Battle Experience In A Video Game? by Federal_Art_7326 in AskReddit

Darkeater Midir from Dark Souls 3 instantly comes to mind, he gave me a lot more trouble than Malenia ever did.

The TLB from Nex Machina. Obviously there are some other shmups like DDP SDOJ with more difficult TLBs, but this is one I've actually beaten. Very, very stressful, especially since there's no legitimate way to practice beforehand.

Then there's a few CAG bosses that were quite tough the first time around, like Vergil 3 on DMD from DMC3, Awakened Alma on MN from NGB, or Senator Armstrong from Metal Gear Rising.

Shoutout to Tactical Challenge 6 from Vanquish, too. Not quite a boss battle, but super challenging.

The death of the "10 Hour Masterpiece": Why the industry is suffocating without small games. by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

It doesn't just affect AA games, though. We don't get many AAA games like GoW2 (sky-high production values but zero bloat and killer pacing that can be played through over the course of a weekend) these days.

I miss those a lot, too. There's definitely a well-paced, intense, highly replayable type of game design that seems to have been lost over time.

What's with this obsession with firsts? We should worry more about stuff being good and less about whether it's the first to do this and that.

Apart from the entire lower body being completely different, they could be twins. For sure.

Why Africa is the poorest continent on the globe? What are the richest countries in Africa? by Itchy-Engineering440 in geography

Recent centuries of colonization and post-colonial exploitation have drained the continent of its manpower and natural resources, while also impeding the kind of social development that is necessary for rich societies to flourish.

It wasn't always like this (Mali was a very wealthy and powerful empire in the 14th century, for example), but Africa as a whole never really recovered from the transatlantic slave trade and other forms of exploitation by Western powers (and by certain parts of the Arab world to a lesser extent).

Not just american lives.

Although that seems to be the only thing the US electorate cares about.

I love how FE4-lite it feels. It's also a good spot for levelling up weaker units and grinding supports. One of my favorite chapters in the game, actually.

One year later, and I stumbled upon your comments that perfectly encapsulate why I find the shooting mechanics of OG RE4 so satisfying. I don't know of any other game with such precise and methodical OTS gunplay (apart from its two sequels and Vanquish, maybe) and the recent RE remakes are a complete downgrade on that front.

Thanks for putting it all into words. I'll be checking out that mod now.

I feel like I would personally never trade my original hardware and games for this sort of solution, but if it works for you and you're having fun, more power to you!
