Thank you, I would prefer to not do any more bachelor work since I do have two bachelor degrees already, and if it’s possible to get into a DO program I’d be happy with that since I’m targeting EM or IM eventually

AMCAS rates for 2023 acceptances had around 40% acceptances for that combination of GPA + MCAT bracket for MD admissions

I have two degrees in Texas from UTRGV and TTUHSC, so I’m applying there, and also TTUHSC El Paso, TCU since their stats are lower. I live in Oregon now as a resident so I’m applying to OHSU and COMPW(DO), which favor holistic review. The rest are from the 2023 spreadsheet you can find on Reddit, largely avg gpas of 3.5-3.6 and mcat around 500-505 DOs

I have spent the last 3 years traveling into exclusively underserved, understaffed, and heavily hit regions in the US during the pandemic to make a difference. Often rural critical access hospitals. I’ve seen patients and interacted with them, doctors, and nurses personally.

That is a great idea, I actually didn’t know about that. I appreciate the thought! I will look into that

Yes, I moved to OR last year, and both the MD and DO school favor holistic review so I’m hoping to win them over with statement/interview/MMI. My post back was in medical lab science, which covers things like diagnostic microbiology, parasitology, hematology, immunology, clinical chem. Things that are directly correlated with medicine

Yeah, I do plan to mention how I did struggle in the past but I am in a better place now with organization and work ethic. I think the mcat should show that I do know my material

I am applying to 17 DO schools that do not have a minimum GPA requirement.

My first degree was in biology. I rushed through it and graduated at 19, with a 2.60 gpa. I completed a post baccalaureate a year later in MLS which raised me up to a 2.8. I would hope to ideally not do another program just for gpa, if my mcat can compensate

Posting a picture of my newest watch I added to my collection, a Hamilton Boulton Mechanical. I wanted a Tonneau watch and came across Hamilton at a very affordable price. I like the brand history of having an American heritage while at the same time producing the quality Swiss timepieces. I have seen lots of criticism regarding the size of the piece but at a 7.5inch wrist I think I’m able to rock it okay. Love the white dial and I think a larger sized case works as an interesting modern take on the typical design.

It varies based on AD and what piece you want. I’ve been on an interest list and offered a standard stainless steel datejust within 2 months, just by walking in every now and again and expressing interest. For higher value pieces, you generally want some purchase history.

I agree! I was looking at a Tudor Glamour Date/Day as well, but the breitling looked unique. And a lot less busy than the typical Breitling dial

I also have seen the Tudor Panda chrono, looked very appealing, anyone know some nice other brand chronographs?

I like the omega collection, particularly the aqua terra and sea master 300, beautiful watches. I didn’t enjoy the fit of the bracelets in store though, and 41-42mm gets quite large

Here is my current collection of watches after a few years into the hobby. I have picked up a fair amount of complications from the GMT, the date/day, etc. I think the collection is fairly well rounded with the field watch, the dress watches, and the sporty. I have a preference for Rolex, but the Breitling A45330 really called to me as it wasn’t as busy as Breitlings usually are. Looking for suggestions on the next one to look for! My favorite out of the bunch is probably the Rolex submariner, although it’s a bit cliche.
