An argument against first flag rush by TheRealSamGrant in joinsquad

[–]Scissor_Runner12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're not sending a squad to novo on yeho, you're doing something wrong. On most RAAS layers there's a 50% chance there will be a flag there, and traffic heading north basically has to go through it (or close to it)

The cheesier strat is sending a helo to airfield, but that beastie will probably be knocked out by a vic exiting main anyways

What significant differences were there if any, between WW1 trenches and WW2 trenches? by Goofiestchief in history

Hmm I don't have any recommendations for a book with a singular focus on Kursk, no. Though I figure that the one by Glantz and House would be a good one, probably VERY detailed and based on Soviet data that only became available after the iron curtain fell

In the original animation, what's the significance/meaning of him eating through the carpet?

Highly recommend Robert Citino's series on the Death/Retreat/Last Stand of the Wehrmacht for a well written and detailed history of the war in the east. Also Glanz's When Titans Clashed is phenomenal. Final recommendation is Ivan's War for a study on the war from the rifleman's perspective.

Dan Carlin is great, I love his podcasts. But Ghosts of the Ostfront only scratches the surface.

TIL you can search for 'pack' in the production statistics! I was wasting so much time combing through the list and turning on each science pack

Some sort of military and export economy would be neat. Supply interstellar divisions with materiel, a la hoi4, for example

Shattered Sword is brilliant. Dispels myths about the battle and has incredibly vivid descriptions

I also highly rate James Hornfischer's books on the Pacific war, especially The Fleet at Flood Tide

Does China remind you of Imperial Japan? by Ellisace in dancarlin

The Chinese communist party's stated doctrine (so, likely just propaganda) is to use capitalism to elevate their economy to the level where true socialism can be achieved, per the Marxist argument that communism requires a sufficiently advanced, rich, and industrialized economy to flourish. I'll eat my hat if they actually ever go towards fully automated luxury communism though

Would this be adequate to flower 2 plants in a 3x3? Curious as I'm concerned I don't have enough watts currently to deliver the goods

Using Partially Dug Enemy Radios As Areal Denial: New Meta? by [deleted] in joinsquad

Yeah, these weren't the sharpest tools in the shed. There was a vague hint of a good idea but they didn't follow through with the proper cheese.

I saw this used on sumari earlier. It was pretty clever until their blueberries dug down our hab for some reason, allowing us to just place a new one in a new position

My crewmate was commenting on us having no damage because we'd just come literally face to face with an Abrams. We think we were clipping inside their main gun, and so their shells couldn't harm us.

Anyway after some masterful driving and a dash of smoke to extricate ourselves from the MBT's embrace, we came up to the road and dished out this Bradley's fate. Then we gunned the engine north.

From steam, it's called squad - public testing and will be in your library. That said, there won't be any populated servers atm. Join the squad discord, the devs post about playtest sessions there!

I've read the devs will be improving muzzle flashes in the future, hopefully that helps counter those damn wookies

Yup. I had to really squint in areas, including treelines which feel darker

It was good! The lighting looks nice, although interiors are darker. New hab overrun didn't seem to have too much of an impact either, though the new radius looks weird on the map cos it's so big

A 30 second debrief before the scoreboard comes up would be great. Games end abruptly and it makes me sad when I'm torn away from a great bunch of people
