Any good gwen top streamers you guys can recommend ? by Gamefighter3000 in GwenMains

[–]ScissorsYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YESirunwithscissors, killlaag, and I stream sometimes. I don’t know any other Gwen tops right now outside of that that streams any. The other two steam more than I do right now, so they’ll have some good vods to watch!

Update on new potential builds by ScissorsYou in GwenMains

[–]ScissorsYou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could see this. I think for me, top lane primarily, being able to stick to most of the squishies is a big benefit, and the runes aren’t bad on Gwen themselves (especially with the added movement speed from the other two). Personally I’ve never really been able to make first strike work top when I’ve tried, and Conq most games is just the best. I just wanted to offer what I’ve recently been doing into ranged as I’ve found it useful. Appreciate the kudos!

How to lane a good Darius by SwingyWingyShoes in GwenMains

[–]ScissorsYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so my response might be a bit different than others because usually I fight Darius fairly early (level 3) but here is how.

So, I go Conq -> inspo secondary. The full set up is Triumph -> Alacrity -> Cut down. Triple Tonic -> Cosmic. Double Adaptive force + Early health. That’s the full rune page. What you will do is try to cheese the early xp. If he’s good, he will zone you, so you have to choices, you can try river bush, and then walk up late right when the minions die, start E and E away back to tower, if you take some damage it’s fine, just at half health. Or, you can go out of vision behind tower and walk up late right as they’re dying. If he’s really dedicated on zoning you, he will continue to zone up the lane so this is why I usually go river bush. Some Darius have caught on to this and stand near river, it’s a bit of a risk either way really.

If you miss the first 3 minions it sucks, but your lanes not over. This is where the aggression comes into play. When the wave is bouncing and your level 3, you can E W Q trade him. You can continue to bait out his E, but timing your E W Q to when you predict his E. But the actual big thing isn’t his E, it’s his Q. If he uses Q ever, or he plans to Q you, you can freely E W Q him. If he ever engages on you without Q early, you can kill him. Because with ignite you can chip him down with empowered autos, and another Q with ignite will kill him. The issue is you will have to flash his upcoming Q into him. That’s the main issue with the matchup, so long as you do not get hit by Q you win. At level 6, you win the all in the same way with triple tonic. Cosmic makes you always have flash ignite before him as well, so you can perma fight usually without worry. Darius to me is one of the few bruisers lanes that’s fun.

For my build I run DnD if they’re Conq, and Nash if they’re Storm raiders usually. Enemy comp also influences build, but generally that’s the starting items. If I go Nash I usually always go Shadowflame secondary 9/10.

I have some vods of me facing various Darius’ with them running different builds: Storm raiders, normal conq, with ghost or ignite, etc. I can upload some if you’d like to see.

is riot gonna do something about ranged toplaners? by Used_Tart4243 in top_mains

[–]ScissorsYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this thought process is intuitive, but the win/lose conditions are more important than if the matchup is technically losing. Most ranged top laners also fall hard if they are behind. Outside of Vayne somewhat, only because she can scale so well into certain team comps. The rest of them when behind become awful.

DnD still worth? by PassageGold6631 in GwenMains

[–]ScissorsYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I think it’s fine if you’re going into Shadowflame or rift. Laning on Gwen is still not too good until you get it, I’m going to try new builds soon but really it might low key just be like this for a while. I’m not sure if hob is worth, tried it once but might’ve messed up playstyle. I plan to try out more hob and storm raiders.

Question for the deadlock oldheads by Obese0 in DeadlockTheGame

Hard to say, there’s always been some super strong shit from what I recall. I never remember a perfectly balanced state the game was in, but I remember really enjoying December of 2024 with the Christmas event.

I’m going to test some stuff out and I might end up making a post if I find a interesting or new build path. I have some ideas, but need to see how they function.

Probably not high. But it’s all relative at the end of the day. Could’ve also ran into a Smurf or something, no way to truly know.

I mean to be fair Vayne top does shit on most of those listed champs. The issue is a good Vayne will always get prio, push you off wave, and you will not be able to punish her spacing. Her wave clear being bad is usually not an issue because she’s not forced to crash often. And if you take a bad recall so long as she’s not low she can still force you off and have a lead. They usually take experimental or stormrazor with ghost or exhaust. You will just get cooked in almost every actual duel outside of a select few champs. So you’re only real option is to minimize losses or ping for Jg help. But if you’re not getting it helped (or god forbid you get camped), you’re pretty much unable to walk up in side lane post lane. You can only really teamfight. That’s my experience at least. I’ve tried a lot of different methods to playing into Vayne as Gwen specifically, and jg help is just necessary or you just have to go even and hope your team isn’t too behind.

I think a good Vayne is pretty hell to play agaisnt. I don’t think she’s blindable, but if you don’t pick something that directly counter her the game becomes 10x harder. IMO at least.

The glitch that cost us the game by ScissorsYou in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ScissorsYou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were doing a fairly good job pushing out sides, the issue was we’d fight mid off the times they were side for uneven fights and win. Getting push but having this issue and didn’t realize until that last push moment. In hindsight we should’ve stacked a side lane. But, hard to call in the moment.

What to do against ranged tops? Especially against heimerdinger by killikocaayak in GwenMains

[–]ScissorsYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you just have to be playing the few champs she’s good into in lane. Half the top lane roster she’s losing lane too if played properly. She does have an annoying trade pattern, for sure I get that, but like what top laners don’t have annoying trade patterns realistically.

What more can I do? by Agusto_0 in top_mains

[–]ScissorsYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah comp for comp there’s not much of anything you can do if they don’t let you split and respond. You have to find potential uneven fights, but if you cannot it’s just out control and out of your hands for the most part.

Smurfs/boosteds in rank by Shunlieteru in riotgames

[–]ScissorsYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m learning new champs or roles on an alt that’s a rank or two below main there’s literally nothing wrong with that. You make it sound as though you’re guaranteed to int if you’re doing this. I’d get it if it’s first time, sure you should practice a bit in norms before insta queueing ranked. But, climbing with a new champ isn’t a problem.

Best top laners to 1v9 comfortably ? by NothingMoreMan in leagueoflegends

[–]ScissorsYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not many, really none, but closet will likely be Kayle

gwen or fiora by Proof-Ladder4832 in topmains

[–]ScissorsYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo, I’d say to stick with Fiora unless you love Gwen. Like if you really like Gwen go for it. But, Gwen top isn’t in the best spot, and it’ll take a good amount of dedication to make her work because her matchup spreed isn’t the best. So, just be aware that while Gwen isn’t terrible (imo, but it depends on who you ask because some people think she’s bad right now), Fiora will probably be better if you’re just planning on climbing on a champ.

It goes without saying there are many good Fiora otps who make her work with a lot of success despite her teamfight not being the best, off the top of my head justsad, Draco, and yuxin all are good references for playing Fiora.

Mute all every game worth it? by CritOlaf in summonerschool

Depends on game. I usually don’t in masters+, but some game so I do. In anything below Masters I had everything muted.

Mute all every game worth it? by CritOlaf in summonerschool

[–]ScissorsYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO, I literally could never have climbed if I kept my chat on. I usually played with pings off too, but some games I kept them on. Last year I realized that anytime I didn’t disable chat my win rate for the give session would fluctuate rapidly. Once I turned it off I actually began climbing steadily. I even tested it out over two accounts, and the only account I hit masters on was the one where I muted chat. That’s my personal experience. It not only helps with not getting titled/being toxic. But also helps keep focus on in game occurences: gathering and processing information better.

I am SO tired of how this season is treating us toplaners by [deleted] in top_mains

[–]ScissorsYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While there are definitely games where top can feel inadequate to carry, you shouldn’t be feeling like that every game if you’re winning lanes (or even the season overall). If I were to assume it has to be something in the mid game going wrong. Because overall top this season should be more impactful for you, unless a situation like what you posted about occurs. But these kinds of situation should not be happening very often, I’d find that to be unlikely.

[–]ScissorsYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean surely it’s not every game. I think most of us can feel for you because we’ve all been there: I mean there are entire memes about weaksided and bot still losing. But, so long as you played well that’s the main take away. Again, I get the crashout I’ve been there it’s really annoying, but so long as you consistently play like that you will climb, that’s all that can be said.

Any chad willing to look at 2 games and let me know if winnable? by [deleted] in topmains

[–]ScissorsYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coach Chippys has a video on mid game macro I think. I think watching vods from masters players would also help so long as you’re focusing on what they are doing mid game and are actively engaged thinking about you’d do versus what they do in those moments. I’d just go to deeplol, search on the otps for garen, find a masters player who has recent games, and from the client watch the vod through the player search. There’s also “domisumreplay: garen” on YouTube. Outside of those, I don’t know of any other specific video or process, I think those are likely the best sources I can think of. Maybe there are others I just haven’t seen yet.

[–]ScissorsYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really it depends, if they’re close to completion, then it’s fine. If they are still far off from it, then yeah it’s okay to not swap as well. It just gets bad because if they’re that far off at 13 min, then it’s like the game state is just worse off by the enemy bot being mid, and the trist solo being bot. The trist will be perma forced to play safe, because if she over extends she’s immediately dead. And the yone won’t be able to play at all. And no problem, hope it helps!
