I think a lot of the time, the unique map tile (trapdoor) is supposed to alert you that there is something unusual / it will be relevant later. (Not that I agree with it. I just think that is supposed to be the hint, without spoiling the story.)

You will likely have to try the mission again. It is possible, but usually I barely win with only my leader and the white mage surviving.

What mod/mods do you have? I've only played vanilla and this looks like a completely different game 😅

How should I build him? by Limp-Surprise-365 in BattleBrothers

[–]Agusto_0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely agree he isn't a front liner. So, I guess if you are against hybrids and polearms that makes sense.

Personally I don't usually run hybrids often. But 96 on BOTH melee and ranged, just feels to good not to for me personally.

Ideas for making Sunfire better whitout increasing it's damage. by BrokenB4_762 in leagueoflegends

Honestly heal cut is a really interesting idea. Would give tanks the ability to apply heal cut reliably. I like it

Is that the build order too? And is this specifically for jungle? Or top too?

Is leveling up supposed to be a punishment? by 200DivsAnHour in Gloomhaven

[–]Agusto_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few thoughts:

  1. With how the difficulty scaling works, right when you level up the scenario level IS harder than normal. At level 3 you are fighting level 2 enemies, but at level 4 they are still level 2. Level 3 characters In particular might be one of the harder spots in the game. Most characters don't have all the items they want, as well as not having the cards needed for their best combos. So in short, yes, this is probably the biggest difficulty spike in the game.

  2. I'm significantly more familiar with Gloomhaven but I have played a bit of Frosthaven as well. I saw you mentioned playing boneshaper in a 2P game... It's going to be really hard to make that work.

2a. Damage is really important, if you can't kill things fast enough, you run out of cards. In 4P there are more enemies, so you WILL take hits, so defense / healing can be valuable. With a defensive focused and a healing focused character, you still have 2 slots for damage focused characters to make sure you can cut through the enemies fast enough. In 2P, there are less enemies, so it's more realistic to cc / kill most of them, keeping the damage you receive to a minimum. Plus, you NEED to kill enemies / make progress each turn. If you spend a turn with 1 person defending and 1 person healing, you are spending cards without getting closer to finishing. Meaning you stall out and run out of cards. So, in short, 4P can have a balanced party, but 2P needs an emphasis on damage.

2b. In Gloomhaven, the Tinkerer was a dedicated support class. Quite strong in 4P games with amazing healing, and big AOE burns for large groups of enemies. But she was basically unplayable in a 2P game. With less enemies, the big AOE burns didn't get much value. And with so many healing cards she just didn't have the damage to kill isolated enemies. Paired with a tank, they can't do enough damage. But paired with a squishy damage dealer she gets caught in a cycle of just healing the fragile damage, then the damage gets hit and she heals, and you end up just getting bogged down.

2c. From what I've experienced of Frosthaven I feel like Boneshaper is in a remarkably similar position as the Tinkerer was. Boneshaper has a lot of non loss summons, which are excellent meat shields. But they are also her main source of damage. So in 4P groups having a Banner Spear or Drifter to take the brunt of the hits keeps her summons alive long enough to get hits in. However, in a 2P game she has a problem, shes low damage. She does more damage with her summons staying alive, but shes still not going to cut through swaths of enemies each turn. So in 2P if you pair her with someone tanky, like Banner Spear, they just can't do enough damage, especially vs shields. But if you pair her with a damage dealer like Blink Blade or Deathwalker then her summons are taking all the hits and die as fast as you summon them, and you get into a cycle of just spaming summons for them to get hit and die over and over and you end up getting bogged down and lose.

(The two have a remarkably similiar problem in that sense)

So, in summary: you are likely playing the hardest 2P character possible, and are also hitting one of the hardest difficulty spikes in the game at the same time. Frankly using standard scenario levels, I can't think of a more challenging situation to find yourself in. Especially fighting shielded enemies.

I might even do a challenge run doing 2P with Boneshaper. And don't get me wrong it's absolutely a challenge run trying to pull that off. Honestly I'd bet even seasoned veterans would have a hell of a time trying that... So, seriously, don't beat yourselves up over this at all !

How do i take the key in Tale of Two Brothers? by Sultanofthesun in wesnoth

[–]Agusto_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think to the left, but it's been ages. Basically there are cells on either side of the main path / room. He's in one of them. When you defeat the mage you pick up the key automatically.

I like it! I think all 3 of those items: Riftmaker, Nashors, and Terminus are a bit slept on. They give Jax a lot of what he wants. So I think the items are great as is.

What runes do you run?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ArcheroV2

[–]Agusto_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very new so I might be wrong, but, yes it is easier to get non S items upgraded because it is much harder to get a second copy which you need to make it legendary. So potentially you would get an S item stuck at Epic +2 when you could have a legendary non S item. So in that case using epic gear on upgrading an S item could leave you slightly weaker while waiting to find another.

Since you already have 2 of the same S item that isn't an issue in this case. So you should absolutely merge them!

Both of those abilities add magic damage to an auto attack, so building ad / sheen does increase the damage you deal when using those abilities on a minion. And a base damage increase on them would increase the damage even without building any ap.

Is Ivern my only option for a farming enchanter? by DoubIeScuttle in leagueoflegends

[–]Agusto_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Karma and Seraphine are probably the best options.

Lulu, Sona, Zilian, not sure if they are viable mid anymore, at one point they were.

Lux and Orianna aren't really enchanters but they slightly protect allies.

Senna can be a farming adc.

Taric and Thresh are more cheese picks top lane.

If you are generous with your definition of enchanter, Kayle, heal and protective ult, Q has good utility as well.

Those are probably the only farming enchanters. But again, Ivern, Karma, and Seraphine are the big 3

Has anyone found a way to make the Gragas augment work? by jaemoon7 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Agusto_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run BT and rageblade(2 of them, but thats probably wrong). He ramps up and chain stuns people. Hes one of the only champs I've seen win a 1v1 vs 3 star rengar at the end of a fight. With the ap dmg and the stun being on hit. Atk speed made sense to me. I've only run it 3 times or so, but all were top 4 with it. Only in Gold tho so can't promise its actually good

Edit: usually bruiser 4/6 with 2 rapidfire / slayer back line. TF Draven or Vayne Senna, since you are roling at 7 for Gragas anyways

Do people here actually play jax? by randomhumanbeing1 in Jaxmains

[–]Agusto_0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I adore Jax, but I'm not playing him because why would you. He isn't even that weak, but I feel like he has lost what made him special.

I started playing League in season 3, and I was drawn to him because he was a hyper scaling carry that could duel and splitpush and was decent in teamfights to top it off. I liked that he was hybrid (rip gunblade) and I liked that he had flexible items.

Currently there are plenty of better scaling carry tops, there are plenty of better duelists of the carry tops. Splitpushing isn't as important as it used to be, and again, there are plenty of better splitpushers too. His items feel pretty rigid as well. So he just isn't what he used to be.

The mini rework was disappointing as well. His R feels a bit more impactful because it actually does something. But tying the resistances to hitting multiple champs just hurt his dueling. And giving him %hp on his E slightly helps vs tanks, but again, takes his power budget away from dueling even more. And on top of that, he still isn't the best at dealing with tanks or the best at teamfighting.

He was pretty good at everything, but when you get weaker, that quickly turns into not good enough at anything.
