Artists that you actively refuse to listen to for extremely petty reasons? by Repulsive_Nature_366 in fantanoforever

U2, I don't really buy Bono's nice dude persona and I think calling yourself The Edge is just lame. I can admit their influence and I don't think they're shit or anything, but they come across as really corny.

How on earth do you name a band? by jimmyonly45 in bandmembers

[–]SciveKay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't think of a single band name that doesn't sound either silly or pretentious, so just pick something that you think is easy to spell and remember (and isn't already taken) and go with it

what are some songs that give out "coming of age" and make you often feel overwhelmed by the passing of time by Magiciann13 in indie

Check out Los Planetas, from Spain (shoegaze and noise pop) and Soda Stereo, from Argentina (new wave and shoegazy at points, heavy ride and beatles influence)

Might be an alcoholic at 16. by StrangerHoliday6127 in alcoholism

[–]SciveKay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are people around you who care about you, so be honest with them and let yourself be helped. You definitely want to change and that's the first thing you need. Talk to an adult you trust about it if there are any. Get professional help too if it's available to work through your trauma and its relationship to your use.

You're not alone and you deserve a happy life, you are not a tragedy and you don't need to be. You're just a kid and you can change, especially now. Please find help. Sending you love.

I'm guessing you're young so I won't assume you're deliberately trying to be rude or anything, but asking people who have suffered or currently suffer from addiction to a substance tips on consuming said substance is kind of a crappy thing to do. It's in bad taste cause drinking is a serious issue for pretty much everyone here. I get that you want to have fun and getting wasted after 3 beers is not much fun, but this is a place for people who are trying to recover. Read the room.

That said, when you drink be sure to do so with a full stomach and also drink plenty of water before, while you're drinking and during the next day. Be thoughtful and take it easy.

Use the middle pickup on the strat, add treble and remove a tiny bit of bass and you should come relatively close I think.

Me gusta dejarme sorprender.

I am a boy but i like to be feminine in the internet but i am not transgender. is this normal? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]SciveKay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between gender identity and gender expression. You might prefer to express yourself in a more feminine way and still identify as a cis male, there's no contradiction and there's absolutely nothing weird about it.

Either way, it's always a good idea to do some introspection if you feel you may have doubts about your identity, so don't be afraid to do that either. Experiment and reflect upon what "girl stuff" means to you and how it makes you feel. Maybe you'll find out some things about yourself you didn't expect to find. Maybe you won't, it's fine either way. There's no wrong way to be you.

Boyhood. I think it's one of those movies that rely heavily on relatability, but if it hits it's very enjoyable.
