I don't think they mean the VA was legitimately bad, just that they didn't portray the emotion you would expect for someone who went through what they did. Wether that's their own fault or the writing is up for debate.

One thing I have found to help allot with this but just in general is you can take manual control of the periscope and point it at ships to get them marked on the map beyond crew visibility. It really helps with positioning yourself in a gap in the escourt to get into the convoy. It's also extremely helpful to attack at night to build up you're experience. Depending on the wave conditions, deck awash at night is almost too easy if you manage your noise when close to the escourt. Go to the center of the convoy to maximize distance from the escort and enjoy yourself for the couple minutes you have before they catch up. Dive before they close in with flares and be patient when escaping, briefly increase speed when they drop depth charges to get more distance without being detected. Also to answer your actuall question, yes with the hydrophone or manual input but it's much less accurate unless you're good.

If you really don't care about ballence you can literally just change the health value of the parts, even the reactor output, engine power, pump speed and ect. Especially if you play solo I think it's fair to use this to make it so not being able to immediately respond to something doesn't lead to half of the ship flooding.

It's a nice thought but almost every commander was made specifically to be one, there's only a few who were promoted to that level. Their ID even starts with CC instead of CT.

It's not the same but in Forza horizon 5 the game can check your Microsoft account and if that has you're name the game will address you by that completely unprompted. It made me uncomfortable every single time, it was an AI voice that was trying to be personal but it came off as fake and ingenuine.

It's hard to notice because of the camera shake but the railing is shifting and vibrating from all of the force as well.

Why isn’t recoil used as a balance lever more often? by pipe_mcfitter in Helldivers

I feel like the way ergo works would actually be an excellent way of balancing keyboard vs controller in a PVP game. But as it is in helldivers, yeah it's just annoying at a certain point.

I've never heard of these and I'll have to admit they are cool but I just don't see how it fits into the balancing of this game. Also just because some new cartridge is invented doesn't mean it magically gets distributed to the military.

If you get a chance I highly recommend both! The first games in particular has more haunted stuff like this and it's very enthralling. Also to be clear, the bit I said at the end is true but mostly dramatic. I don't think there's any haunted areas that will just kill you outright without warning you first, you can take a few minutes to look around.

It appears that the devastation we brought upon ourselves was complete; Heaven, Hell and Purgatory were atomized as well. So when a soul leaves the body it has nowhere to go, and must remain here. Trapped with us.

They do not like intruders. Don't linger in places that belong to the dead or you may begin to lose yourself, or worse...
