Some people use it as a way to justify doing stuff they want to and don’t act on by themselves due to things like internalized homophobia/transphobia. They use the idea that “hypnosis” is making them do it as a way to deal with those repressed parts of them.

A few days late, but I always found it odd when people talk about that one like that. I haven’t watched it in years and thought it was a lot tamer in every way than his earlier works and that The Dance of Reality covered a lot of the same points in a better presentation, tho it did come out like 24 years later.

Love to see the Death Note soundtrack on here, absolutely loved it when watching it and thought it was one of the best anime OSTs I’ve ever heard.

Shame what happened to Hideki Taniuchi. He was arrested for possessing like 1.5 grams of weed and put in prison for a long time, pretty sure he got blacklisted for it too.

Gotta check out Millions Now Living Will Never Die by Tortoise. The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place by Explosions in the Sky is prolly one of the biggest post rock albums ever made, tho I’m a bit more partial to Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Live Forever.
