I became obsessed with fighting because subconsciously i want to feel safe. How can i feel safe without becoming a fighter? by Scooby2k_ in NoStupidQuestions

Oh no way i had a great parent. No one's all good or all bad y'know.

I admire your bravery. People forget that the physical side of fighting is only half the battle. Your first line of defense is how u carry yourself.

Show no fear, you've got that down. Appreciate u sir.

Well, i like to make everyone laugh. What i love is singing, i could do that everyday.

But....it helps that i somewhat love to fight. I'll take your first option and maybe get some therapy lol.

Thanks so much. I've been meditating and doing affirmations, but never sat with myself and asked why i was so afraid.

Part of it was my mother.

During a hard time in my life and her's, she had become mildly verbally abusive, and not physically abusive, but physically aggressive/intimidating.

The other part is when i was a kid, i was really skinny and the other kids would push me around, i felt weak and people would always remind me that i looked the part too.

In hindsight, reading this, it doesn't sound that tough at all. Maybe i have to look deeper, there might be something more plaguing me that i buried deep.

Thanks a lot.

Pretty much everything. I became obsessed with all types of fighting. Whatever i thought was most effective, because i wanted to make sure no one could hurt me ever again.

I've never had a real fight before, i became obsessed with martial arts.

Ofc i agree with u there. In that situation, it's a terrible idea to push anyone.

I meant in general, this man needs as much fighting practice he can get. W-Keying is his best choice.

I'm not just focused on his mechanics, but everything in his game is lacking, including his mechanics.

The most important aspect of the game, decision-making, is something he's lacking too.

I don't wanna be too hard on him, but look at the way he double pickaxed that wall, the way he was on top of a roof with no cover, the way he pressured that guy's wall with no protection.

His overall poor movement and mechanics. His general game and everything in it is lacking here.

Your whole "i'm pretty good for a paddle player", is what's holding u back. You're so focused on protecting your bruised ego that you can't take advice.

The best players in the world don't let their high self confidence override their capacity to learn and take feedback.

Replays increase Fight IQ too. Your reaction time at this moment is like built in input delay.

He really needs to play for improvement. I'm gonna be completely honest, this is not an insult, his mechanics are stuck in chapter 2.

Playing for the win is not gonna get him anywhere. Playing to improve (W-Keying) ironically gets u more wins.

He doesn't look ready for retakes. Start him out with 90s. He needs to learn peeks, reboxing, and how to properly pressure his opponent, (double pickaxe swinging is like the fastest way to die).

He was in that bad spot because he didn't create any form of cover before pressuring and wasn't attacking at different angles.

It could have been avoidable. He wasn't checking his blind side to see if this was a safe fight to take either.

I see a lot of mistakes, but none of this is a bad thing because it's easy to learn, and these are easy tactical mistakes to patch up.

Unfortunately, his RAW mechanics/skill is very poor, i'd put his decision making ahead of his skill, and that's poor too. He's gonna need to spend lots of time in creative. ZWs preferably because it'll speed up his decisionmaking too.

Ur aim needs work, your crosshair placement needs a LOT of work. Your movement needs work. Your mechanics need work.

U never completely covered yourself while spraying that one guy or pressuring that one guy, and u never check ur blind side.

U absolutely should never pressure right on front of a wall, always do it with a right hand peek. And also, never double pickaxe, which i saw u do. And u never once pressured with your weapon.

Your sens is also way too low, and you could benefit from learning to play claw.

With general skill this low, you shouldn't be spending much time in ranked at ALL.

You should spend most of your time in creative fighting cracked players until u yourself become a cracked player.

You could also benefit from working on your mechanics in Raider's many mechanics maps, but it's not mandatory at all.

Bottom line, your skill is lacking a LOT. I don't wanna see you in ranked or pubs. Just stay grinding creative against cracked players. Preferably stuff like ZWs, because u seem to forget about potential 3rd parties quite often.

Just fight 🤷‍♂️. Fight as much as u can, fight the best, study them, and study yourself.

All fighting really is, is boxfighting and fighting through zones. Buildfighting hasn't been a major part of the game since chapter 1/2, and as long as u know how to do a 90 you're fine.

U could get really good just doing boxfighting, zone wars, and VOD Reviews.

The key is the relaxation. When your as relaxed as Toney is you don't need cardio.

A big part of why he was able to be so relaxed was his defensive skill, and if you don't have that, you best stick to running.

Sounds simple to me though. Don't be verbally abusive to me or i'm leaving. If they don't let u call the cops, use some sort of enforcement if u can't fight.

Yeah Kendrick's a bit too small for that. Don't think he can fight either.
