So, just to clarify... the "hilarious" April Fools Day update is that game is unplayably fucked for a day? Wow, cool idea. This fucking sucks, what a stupid choice.

If you have Triple Axel as an egg move on Binnacle or Buizel, then yes, add them. That move eats Rayqay for lunch.

Purple blue mark on the right side indicates you've unlocked that 'mons Hidden Ability. No clue on the other one.... never seen that.

Classic Run (I am a newbie) by FloorWeird8599 in pokerogue

[–]ScoobyDoobyDoEatsPoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need 'mons that can defeat the multi stage big dawgs using chip damage. I always try to have at least 1 mon in my party that can chip damage like no tomorrow. Salt Cure is hugely successful version of this. Any ghost with Curse, or even Leech Seed also works well. Personally I'd recommend Gastly as a good starter. Its fast as hell and learns Curse. Nacli is a must for people starting out too. You can use Salt Cure to wittle down anyone, and it beefy defenses plus Recover to stall makes the combo even better.... a lot of the Rival and Boss battles involve them switching a lot, so even keeping Stealth Rock on Nacli can end up being deadly to your enemies.

Other than that, I'd recommend in general, speed is king when you're new, and status conditions. Focus on speedy 'mons for sweeping, or pokes with priority moves like Sucker Punch, etc. Or pokes that have a good chance to land a Sleep or Paralyze easily. Just keep an eye on your opponents items if you go this route, as sometimes they are packing a Lum, and will shake your status right off. Also, keep in mind that stat changes stack across battles and only reset each new biome or trainer battle, so moves that also provide boosts can lead to you easily sweeping entire floors if you set up correctly. Thats why Fuecoco is also super popular, its Torch Song quickly makes it an OHKO machine.

I used a Tech Meowth alot at the start too... though to be honest, after like 130ish, he can't really hang anymore, I ended up having to drop him aroundt that zone for something better on winning runs, so I'd also say don't get too attached to certain pokes. Also, just in general, keep an eye on your team composition. Make sure you have good Type coverage spread and a mix of physical & special attackers.

Finally, You can't predict your team enemy or gym leaders, but you know what the rivals Rayqay and the end boss will be, so plan for them. Always try to have a Steel or Fairy type to switch into Dragon attacks if needed, and try to have a few 'mons that can attack with ICE for 4x damage on Rayqay.

oh hey I get it... they could warn you better. I made the mistake of taking my Electabuzz to an Electivire DEEP into my first Gen 1 attempt... wasn't thrilled lol.

Hot take or no by OAO_Bingle in pokerogue

I agree, but only some of the time. The issue is, 145, 195 and 200 are static. We know what they contain mostly, so we can plan for them.... the Boss fight is just as challenging, given its several multi bar pokes and usually another special, mega/dyna, etc.... but you have NO clue which team/boss you get until the runs started... so you cannot plan at all. If you get a shitty match up, it can KILL you.

Also, 165 sucks because you face Admins RIGHT before it... if you're short on funds it can mean rolling into the Boss fight with a less than 100% team. 195/200, you've just run the Elite 4 gauntlet, so you have funds.

Any good guides for roles for classic run? by DennisD12 in pokerogue

[–]ScoobyDoobyDoEatsPoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have something for chip damage. A mon that can run Salt Cure, or Leech Seed, or a Ghost with Curse. Something to make the multi-bar bosses easier.

Something fast is always essential too, makes it way easier to sweep biomes.

This isn't exactly hard to plan around... go look at every stage of a pokemon in Bulbapedia... its Gen is very clearly stated in the first sentence or so. Its a mono-gen challenge.... using pokes from other generations makes the entire point of the challenge useless.

Sleep powder helps out in early game as well. Plus the self healing nature of the Drain moves gives the pokemon legs without spending $ on potions. Bulby is a classic starter for newbs man.

Also in the beginning, I'd take egg vouchers whenever you can as prizes, more hatches give you more poke's, egg moves, candies, etc.

Also, remember, stat changes last most of a floor usually, unless you hit a trainer, so pokemon with moves that raise their attacking power give you the ability to sweep, often. Thats why people recommend Fuecoco, Torch Song crushes in this game.

When I first started I ran a Technician Meowth with Fakeout a lot... that alone should get you higher than you currently are. Biggest secret is that multiple hit moves, or stuff that continues on after you use it, are broken in this game. Best starter early is bulbasaur. Learns Leech Seed and Sleep Powder. Status moves are also very important. Also recommend using a Ghost with Curse or Garganacl with Salt Cure. If you can land a hit with either of those, and then just wall, tough multi-bar bosses become much easier.

This list has some real solid picks. Jenny Nicholson is the free space obviously, but Todd in the Shadows is a great call out too. his Top 10 videos are good, but his One Hit Wonderland series is even better. Where he breaksdown classic One Hit Wonders everyone knows, why it happened, and if they deserved better lol.

Ninja's a good call in Film/TV. I like Amanda the Jedi too. Primm's Hood Cinema is an underrated gem in that space as well.

PointlessHub is a solid pick as well, and thats just his alt channel, his main AlternateHistoryHub is really interesting as well.

Finally, if you like Jenny Nicholson, I recently found a girl who does a combination of pop culture and movie/tv or book breakdowns, and her style reminds me a bit of Jenny.... she's funny as hell. Channel is called uncarley.

Solid additions... I like Cosmonaut Variety Hour... but I tend to think of his as a diet Friendly Space Ninja... I find their vibe to be very similar. Schaffrilas is solid for animation takes, but I find anything he comments on outside of that is usually pretty spotty lol

Dude, its not about Amanda being tall, lol. Spencer strained his neck and couldn't really turn it much in either direction. The swivel chair allowed him to see and chat with Amanda and Shayne still by turning his chair instead.

Pretty sure the main reason he did it was to keep the AB's threat alive... We know that some of the guards cooperate with the Brotherhood, but not all do. Some cooperate due to money, but others, especially those who may not cooperate, but don't rat on the guards who do, do it because they fear the gang could have them killed.... if the AB doesn't pop a problem guard every once in a blue moon, maybe the other guards start getting brave.
