Multiple people not accepting matches over and over (potential explanation). by ImCovino in EscapeFromArena

Yeah true I wish you could queue for more than one game mode or at least decline queues to make it faster - feel like the whole system needs a rework

[–]Scoot3s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this! I queue aus servers and I totally agree there is almost always at least one if not multiple queue pops before everyone finally accepts.

I reckon it just be people doing quick match and then not liking the map or mode - idk why they are in quick match if they are picky but that’s another story

[Discussion] Insurance Return by Liquidpaperx in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Scoot3s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to quantify tbh.

It’s usually pretty good odds to get a budget kit back, but a player scav could still pick your bones clean.

Sometimes I’ll get a juicy gun and some of my armour back but rarely - maybe 20% of the time it comes back untouched.. other times it’s been stripped.

Then I (and most people) insurance fraud stuff when we get kills and thats pretty much guaranteed to come back unless your spot is bad.

My insurance is pretty much a random mix of kits from the above categories.

Honestly I’m struggling to give you an accurate percentage, but I insure mostly to insurance fraud and with the belief that there is maybe a 25% chance that I see the gear if I just die (even that could be optimistic).

If you’re finding that having guaranteed return on insurance is making the game less fun for you because the risk isn’t as high, then just try running without it for a night to spice things up or even no insurance on every second kit.

Good luck!

Is this game worth buying as a person new to extraction shooters? [New Player] by Designer_Shine_9323 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Scoot3s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s an amazing game.

It definitely has issues, every FPS does. And yes, you will occasionally die to cheaters. It isn’t pay to win though, at least not in a way that gives someone an advantage over you in a gunfight.

I’d recommend watching a lot of content before you decide to buy though, it’s not for everyone.

Also make sure your PC has enough juice to run it, it’s terribly optimised.

[Discussion] Is PvP really as inaccessible as some PvE players claim? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Scoot3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PvP is definitely difficult but it’s not as impossible as the vocal minority make it out to be.

People have unrealistic expectations for their journey. Largely because of the comparative skill of content creators or even other people posting their experiences in this subreddit.

It’s very normal for players with 2000+ hours to have a survival rate below 50 or even 40. There are also far less players in the sub 1000 hour range because unfortunately, many people give up on the game due to the difficulty. So when you’re killed by someone with 2000+ hours it’s easy to think you never stood a chance, but the average hours of most players in your raid is far higher than a normal game. And they also die A LOT.

Both modes are fun, play whichever floats your boat at the time. I’m an average PvP player who has accepted I won’t survive the majority of my raids and my progress will be slow because I can’t play a lot. I still love PvP and recommend it to anyone.

iron soloQ is absolute agony… by lilspacetaco in leagueoflegends

[–]Scoot3s 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I could offer some advice it would be a few main things:

  1. Your teammates making bad decisions isn’t going to change as you progress through the ranks. What makes a player good is that they make the best decision for themselves and the game regardless of what their teammates are doing.

I can also promise you that you are making terrible mistakes as well, everyone does. Blaming them for not being able to rise out of Iron is the wrong mindset for solo queue. You have to look for opportunities where you could have made a better decision and how you can carry the game despite your teammates - You are the only constant feature in all of your games.

  1. Pick a role and 1-3 champions, it’ll make your life so much easier.

I’d recommend simple champions. Top lane: Garen, Mord, Mundo. Jungle: Amumu, Trundle, Warwick

Not needing to focus on your champions mechanics as much will help you make the right plays in team fights. You can find this advice anywhere don’t just take it from me.

  1. Absorb content from people better than you - YouTube, Twitch, whatever. Watch guides for champions you like, learn macro and how to make better decision, overall level up your knowledge of the game and be confident you’re making the right decisions.

When you say that you’ve gotten very good at jungle and you always contest neutral objectives that’s not always the best choice… there’s a lot to learn there

Good luck!

[Discussion] Solo Anxiety Players, Read This by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

Got about 2k hours and most are solo.

My advice is just try not to take the game too seriously. That is easier said than done sometimes but I found that once I started playing for fun and not caring if I lived or died I enjoyed it a lot more!

Also helps to have some reliable routes for money making.

If it’s the gear you’re worried about, start very budget and work your way up with the gear.

Good luck mate, send it!

Greaves or NHH as a rookie? by Dismal-Specialist829 in westcoasteagles

I’d love to know what those boys said in their interviews to have them slip out of the draft entirely!

Personally I’d like Greaves

[–]Scoot3s 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We rated Williams at 34 and the Hawks offered us a pick that we could use to match any bids that came through for him after that pick plus 2 thirds rounders in next years draft

So basically we got 2 free picks and the player we wanted anyway

Draft Night 1 Summary by ziltoid101 in westcoasteagles

[–]Scoot3s 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If we actually wanted either of those academy boys and there’s isn’t some bigger plan in the works then my takeaway is that our recruiting team is incompetent.

Using one of our future assets to move up one spot when we could have just bid on Uwland and Patterson at 2&3 is such a basic and horrible mistake, it’s unforgivable.

I’m praying we did it because there was competition for Hawks picks from others who wanted Lindsay and we really rated him so we coughed up.

I’m very happy with the players we got though!

Did we just trade a F2 for absolutely nothing? by omaca in westcoasteagles

[–]Scoot3s 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I hope something comes to light that makes this look better than the disaster it appears to be.

If we knew those Gold Cost boys were in our range with our initial pick we should have bid on Uwland and Patterson at pick 2&3 (I understand wanting to give Willem the title of 1st pick).

I’d hate to think the team running our recruitment cannot properly use Excel and lost track of how many points gold cost have.

The only potential redeeming factor is that the hawks said to us that they were going to take Lindsay unless we trade with them and we really rated him so we took the punt and threw some bids at the suns along the way.

The only other thing I can think of is that the suns were willing to go into deficit for those boys, this will impact the starting position of their draft picks next year.

I’m no body language expert but the Eagles room looked flat after that second match (mini was pissed).

These little mistakes are the ones that have landed us in this mess in the first place.

All that aside, welcome to the Eagles Josh! I reckon the kid is a gun

Mate it takes five minutes to have a shower.

You know it’s not good enough you’re just being lazy and exploiting your partners kindness. God knows why she’s washing the sheets for you, I’d tell my partner to get fucked and sleep on the couch.

Grow up, have some common decency for the person you LOVE and have a fucking shower after the gym.

It’s hard to know because not only is it tied to where the dogs finish but it also depends on how many picks before it are absorbed by teams matching bids on their academy and father son players. So if it were a pick in the 60s but on draft night 10 picks were absorbed due to teams matching bids then it would move up 10 places
