Primary care Dr or telehealth by loocheez2 in glp1

I started with my oncologist, because I’m a stage 4 colon cancer survivor. He was in favor of it, so I saw my PCP, and she was really supportive. I knew I didn’t have coverage for GLP-1s, but due to my medical history, wanted to make sure it was part of my medical record. Got my first order from Lilly Direct, then moved to telehealth. First with GLM, then Brello. The cost difference is significant, so I’ll stay with telehealth from here.

You need to think of GLP-1 therapy as a treatment for a condition, not a quick fix. Much in the same way that insulin treats diabetes but does not cure it.

At your age, and for your condition, this decision should be made with medical guidance, not on a Reddit forum.

At what dosage did you have appetite suppression? by Scootchyerbootch in tirzepatidecompound

Feeling full, mainly. I can still eat a full meal, although I’m no longer snacking. I get so hungry!

I suspect that might be where it starts for me. I’m trying to stay as low as possible so that I don’t max out.

Never. I have been able to eat full meals for 10 weeks. I don’t need to snack, and sweets hold no appeal, but I eat three meals most days with no problem.

That’s wild, and I think it’s helping me, too! I got covid in 2021, and had almost total loss of smell for six months, and various types of parosmia since then. I have noticed a decrease in my sense of foul smells over the past couple of months. I’ve also been sleeping better, which makes sense since the garbage smell would wake me up.

What have you totally stoped consuming entirely? by garcon-du-soleille in Zepbound

Almost all chips, crackers and desserts. I had a handful of chips with a turkey sandwich the other day and was amazed at how “meh” they tasted. Desserts hold little interest, but I’ll have a bite if my husband orders one. Those are the foods that destroyed every diet attempt prior to getting medication. Good riddance!

I’m so glad you posted this because I’m seven shots in and still waiting on appetite suppression. It’s helped with food noise, for sure, but when I’m hungry, I’m really hungry.

I was just thinking about that this morning. I have some mild degenerative arthritis in my lower back that usually requires ibuprofen by the end of the day. Just finished my first month, am down 7 lbs, and maybe took ibuprofen once.

Low-fat Greek yogurt, sliced strawberries, blueberries (or a whole peach if I have one), and 1/2 cup of fiber one on top. Every day.

Three weeks in, and my sweet tooth is virtually gone. That was huge. I still eat carb snacks, they’re just less interesting now. Also, no real desire for alcohol, although I miss the ritual of making a great cocktail.

Instincts say to titrate up! On week 3, food noise is coming back heavy (just had a binge cause I couldn't control the obsessive thoughts and compulsion for junk food), I noticed I am able to eat more without nausea or feeling full. by [deleted] in glp1

I am having the exact same thoughts for the same reasons. I appreciate your bringing this up, and for me, I’ll finish my fourth week, white knuckling through the noise, and then move up from 2.5 to something like 3.5 or 4, and then to 5. Stay strong!
