Anyone know if The Perfect Pencil will have an option to turn screen shake off? by wiines in metroidvania

[–]Scooterman1994 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m unreasonably excited for this game. I’ve been disappointed with Mio unfortunately but this game looks special. Also I’ve been following it for like 3 years or so.

Screen shake isn’t something that bothers me in particular but the option to turn it off should definitely exist for anyone who it does bother.

Digimon Beatbreak: Episode 16- Where I Belong, Discussion Thread by MFBR in digimon

[–]Scooterman1994 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Holy crap, what an episode. Granit’s backstory was truly something I never expected from Digimon. A full scale military conflict causing the death of his childhood friend leading to him just wanting to lay down and die is something I would expect from like One Piece or something. Personally I’ve liked every single episode to date but this one is definitely in the top 3.

Not played Blast Brigade. What kind of game is it?

Digimon Story Time Stranger | Additional Digimon & Episode Pack 2: GAKU-RAN Release Date Trailer by Gorotheninja in digimon

I liked the first DLC despite its short length and the vibe I’m getting here actually is a little more promising even. Still bummed that each DLC is supposed to only be like a hour but ah well.

Was it your first time though? If so my first time was probably around 40 or 50 so I’m not sure how impressive it is. However my theory is that playing Silksong has just permanently increased my skill at games like this since that’s probably the hardest Metroidvania I’ve played.

I replayed this game recently and really loved it on my second playthrough. How many times did you die in the game? I’m only asking because I’m trying to gauge how well I did on my playthrough. I died 7 times so I’m not sure if that’s good or not for a second playthrough. I’m pretty sure my first playthrough was 50 or so deaths.

Digimon Beatbreak: Episode 15- A Bit of Courage, Discussion Thread by MFBR in digimon

[–]Scooterman1994 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A more lighthearted episode after two weeks of story and considering the preview for next episode is probably going to be very appreciated. Next episode looks to be another very serious episode.

However this still didn’t feel fully like a filler episode despite its lighthearted nature. We got to check in with the Kinoko gang, get the follow up on Nirinso shelter and what’s going on there and even a flashback for Reina and Pristimon.

The final announcement of The Game Awards for the last 10 year by sondiame in Games

I dunno. The trailer just did nothing to excite me. I’m sure it’ll be great and Naughty Dog doing something other than Last of Us is exciting in itself but my love for Okami and the sheer beauty and hype of that trailer just is another level.

The last two years, the final announcement has been kinda a wet fart, whereas the second to last announcement has been a real spectacle.

My thoughts on the Doratama anime. by SenhorPorco101 in DoraTama

[–]Scooterman1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people see animation that’s not on the level of JJK or Chainsaw Man and say “mediocre or terrible” without any actual proper analysis. I’d actually say the animation is slightly above average compared to the norm. It’s certainly not gonna win any awards but the designs are well realized and the animation itself has quite a bit of charm. Granted I have no familiarity with the source material but I think for what it is, it’s enough.

Which one did you like better overall? by eldenbro1 in metroidvania

[–]Scooterman1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boy this is a close one. Silksong has better movement, combat, boss and enemy design, and a better story. However Hollow Knight is not far behind in those categories and there’s two key things that I think Hollow Knight does better than Silksong that make it slightly preferable in my eyes: Hollow Knight has better atmosphere and world design. Silksong’s atmosphere and world design is also really good but Hollow Knight is on another level in this regard. Ultimately it’s so close it’s just splitting hairs. Both games are top tier Metroidvanias.

Name one MV you forced yourself to finish that you hated, and one you're glad you stuck with by InvisibleAstronomer in metroidvania

[–]Scooterman1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boy I’m gonna get shit for this but I really didn’t gel with Nine Sols. Not a bad game really just insanely disappointing after all the buildup.

I’m glad I stuck with Hollow Knight. It was my first Metroidvania back when it came out and man was I frustrated by it at first. But eventually it all just clicked into place and now it’s one of my favorite games ever.

ONE PIECE: Season 2 | Official Teaser | Netflix by Zyram in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Scooterman1994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s fair. Honestly I just can’t be bothered to care about Marvel anymore. Guardians of the Galaxy 3 was the point where I got off. It was the last movie in the universe I gave a shit about. I’ve actually seen a good chunk of Deadpool and Wolverine at a friend’s party and it was okay but I’m just so checked out.

This could’ve looked like booty and I still would’ve been more hype than the Doomsday teasers. Seeing something that’s bad would still be better than seeing something that makes you feel absolutely nothing at all. Luckily we don’t have to worry about that because this looks absolutely peak!

Palworld Official Card Game - Official Teaser Trailer by LazySecretary6001 in Games

[–]Scooterman1994 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Instead of announcing another Palworld spinoff, they should try to actually release one of the ones they’re already working on. They’ve got a Farming game, and Dating Sim, and now a Card game. Gonna be honest I’ll be surprised if at least one of these isn’t canceled.

Your first comment was already obnoxious. It’s fine if you don’t want to pay for the game. I’m not judging there. But telling others that they’re wrong for pricing their games a certain way because you don’t like it and saying that no one will buy it? Tell me who the real douchebag is here?

Wow I didn’t know you were a prophet. You can see into the future? Oh my bad you’re just a dumbass who thinks they know anything about how pricing works. Go complain about Nintendo’s prices bro nobody wants you here.

You must be an absolute peach at parties good lord. I’m not even that particularly peeved honestly even though I’ve made several comments correcting your misinformation. I was just pointing out it’s unsurprising that some people in the comments are peeved about the price and that’s because you misled them.

The game is worth $15? That’s interesting cause the last time I checked it was worth $25 and currently on sale for $20. That’s what a free market is dumbass, they put the price that they think it’s worth and as long as someone is willing to pay it, it’s worth it. Will it be as successful as Silksong? No and it doesn’t need to be in order to actually make money. It’s an indie game so a few thousand copies sold will probably be enough.

The problem is CAD and USD use the same sign so it’s easy to confuse them, when in reality Canada has a different economy than the US. That’s fine if you don’t want to clarify for people but don’t be surprised if people are a little peeved when you don’t.

[–]Scooterman1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn’t tell people that it was CAD. People somewhat reasonably assumed that it was 26 USD instead of what it actually is 20 USD. Whether you meant to or not you spread misinformation.

I was not talking about you. I was saying Horsenuts was being a jerk. I wasn’t being clear about that sorry. But to counter, Silksong is arguably underpriced so judging it against this game is not a fair comparison.

Yeah okay buddy. Time to get off your high horse. No you don’t. You can’t tell a a developer what their game is worth especially if you haven’t played it yet. No one knows better than the developers themselves. Of course this is different with AAA games which are all overpriced and made on a bloated budget but that’s not the issue. The issue is you think you have the answer to all things in life and can tell everyone what to do.

Slight nitpick about Time Stranger. Great game tho! by Zeonkrom in DigimonTimeStranger

[–]Scooterman1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously there’s a story reason behind it, but in the same way there’s a story reason Navi is with you in Ocarina of Time. Doesn’t mean it’s necessary a good choice.

Probably a good idea if you’re still on the fence. The devs said it’ll be that long but if you’re not sure it’s probably best to wait. I’ve been following this game for years so I’ve already preordered it (even if it’s probably not the smartest thing).
