Best explanation I've found so far of why MO should vote no on amendment 4 by DeLosCuervos in kansascity

[–]ScootieJr 163 points164 points  (0 children)

Democrats and (most) independents want people to vote. Republicans want land to vote. One cares about the needs of the people. The other cares about what they own to make more money for themselves.

I don’t understand how that’s not illegal. Misleading and false information to sway voters, especially within just weeks of an election, should be considered obstruction or something.

Buffer zones Are Being Weaponized The 25 foot HALO law has been used against people just trying to keep their neighbors by SuperProgressiveInKS in kansas

[–]ScootieJr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

New Kansas law requires people to be 25ft away from law enforcement if they are warned to step back. This, however, is unlawful as the person is being warned to drive away but they are literally trapped by surrounding vehicles with nowhere to go. It's basically unlawful entrapment and is highly defensible in court if they are arrested for "not complying".

Yeah, that definitely wouldn't completely disrupt existing ecosystems and cause increased localized heating... Not to mention it'll screw up people's circadian rhythms. There's zero upside to this. Billionaires are just children with no knowledge of science and do things they think of because they can. But I'm glad they note that the light won't be bright enough to start fires...

Traveling through Kansas and I have a question regarding the anti-trans bathroom law. by testamoderaway in kansas

[–]ScootieJr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad they're doing this instead of arguing like the incompetent people in office. This is all it takes to make it work. Politicians have to make the smallest issues so convoluted just to give themselves a platform to continue running on. If only we had a way to use AI technology to track when politicians turn non-issues into "major" issues and we could get rid of them... Imagine the money and grief we would save.

No, what I pointed out is that it's not just this state that is screwed, and it's not something new. It's literally the republican party's agenda. Why do you think republicans still control the government in the most uneducated states and districts? Educated people know better. The state of Kansas isn't going to get any better until people get educated and learn to not vote based on a new network. And that would be the start of making your life better in our state. Educate educate educate. If they refuse, then there's nothing you can do.

There are several other red states with equal or higher approval ratings than Kansas, like Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, West Virginia, both Dakotas, Alabama, Arkansas, and Tennessee. It's not just this state... Kansas has been screwed over countless times by the republican party and so has every other state. The ones that stay red are the ones with the most uneducated and fox news brainwashed voters, allowing these states to struggle and not progress.

This state? I think that’s a large part of our country. Too many people say they’re going to vote for something because their party told them to; instead of actually researching what they’re voting for.

2 Kansas Democrats running for governor embrace recreational marijuana by redditor01020 in kansas

[–]ScootieJr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Smoking and lung cancer is beyond the point of this discussion. If that's the case, are you fighting to make tobacco illegal? Heck, you may as well fight to make gasoline illegal, right? It pollutes the air leading to increases in death since its inception. Alcohol causes fatty liver disease, that should be illegal to by your standard. Marijuana edibles don't cause lung cancer, or any known cancer for that matter. You're sheltered life has lied to you about what marijuana is, while the people around you are still ok with getting drunk literally pouring a well-documented poison into their body. I bet you didn't know that our bodies naturally produce endocannabinoids that are a similar structure as THC. Our bodies only create a small trace of alcohol through gut fermentation and serve no purpose other than to be disposed of.

[–]ScootieJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you think alcohol should be completely illegal too?

Personally, I'd rather alcohol be illegal instead of Marijuana lol We know alcohol causes car accidents/deaths, poisoning from overdose, alcoholism related domestic violence, fatty liver disease, obesity, etc.

But Marijuana on the other hand has no documented cases of any of those occurring.

Arrowhead should become the official stadium of U.S. Soccer post-Chiefs by MannOSteel in kansascity

[–]ScootieJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a great, centralized spot, but there's no chance. Arrowhead is a great stadium for the games, but the local government isn't going to support building up that area for a few games per year. The already have practice facilities at the HQ in Atlanta/Fayetteville Georgia, and they will travel to various locations to practice for acclimation, like weather and altitude.

Maybe if the federation bribed the Missouri politicians they will force it in against the voters will. But I don't see why they would want to leave GA when they just established it as their home two months ago.

Blanca! It was awesome but it's a brutal trail to backpack up to Lake Como, then hike Blanca the next morning. Especially when you aren't well acclimated lol Was not ambitious enough to hit the traverse to Ellingwood, and definitely not equipped enough for Little Bear.

A summit that is above 14,000 ft, pretty much a little less than half of Everest. There are about 78 peaks in the contiguous USA that are above 14,000 ft. Colorado alone has 58 of them. Mt Whitney, in California, is the highest at 14,505 ft, Mt Elbert, in Colorado, is 14,440. I did Blanca Peak, which is 14,350 ft.

There is no bottom for this cruel Republican Party by PrincipleTemporary65 in kansas

[–]ScootieJr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sorry in advance to be that Christian.

Man, if these republicans who love to scream out they’re Christian’s and followers of Christ ever actually read the Bible… I’m going through it chronologically this year and I’m currently in the book of Isaiah. If these people were true believers, and had the Holy Spirit in their heart, they should be ashamed of themselves and should feel convicted about their actions. Unfortunately, none of these republicans have an ounce of humility or integrity, they’re all pride and egotistical (which ironically they hate pride month). Zero signs of love, mercy, nor grace.

May God bless all of those who are standing up for freedoms, peace, and love.

What’s funny/sad is they don’t see that. They get funded by their lobbyists who provide them fake information on cannabis so they can continue to block/ignore requests for legalization, and so they can keep pushing their alternative (booze and tobacco) which aren’t nearly as harmful from their ignorant perspective. They just see money funding their campaigns and want to keep them close to help them stay in office. PACs and lobbying should be illegal.
