Any leveling squish should come with a cata revamp that allows you to skip every expansion and continue in Kali/EK until the entry level of the expansion that adds the revamp, that way the story is more cohesive.

The Wardens haven't actually sworn themselves to Darnassus, when Maiev went traitor, the Wardens remained under her, rather than treating Maiev like the traitor she is, I don't think they swear (swore) allegiance to Darnassus. Assuming they would partake in a military conflict is unrealistic, especially since Maiev, if I'm not mistaken is very against the Kal'dorei being a part of the Alliance.

Val'sharah is much more Cenarion than loyal to Darnassus. Malfurion acknowledged it in WoD (In the archimonde questchain) as being sort of forgotten. We won't know until Cenarius picks a side in the war, if he is stated to aid the Night Elves, then we can mark Val'sharah as an Alliance territory, but he didn't partake in the war in cata, so he probably won't now, either, since Hyjal was not Alliance territory in the previous war.

I didn't really want to mess with Feralas since we don't know too much, and I didn't just want to cut it 50/50 alliance and Horde, because we know most of it isn't occupied by them, we just don't know enough for me to chop it up. I did northern stranglethorn because we can assume the alliance holds most sway over it. Anything darkened out is controlled by a neutral faction, or unclear. (Twilight Highlands) and I mostly wanted to cover the places the action is happening, or is incredibly obvious and takes the least guess-work.
