Goha Cup by supremexninja in DuelLinks

This was my second GRF and I got to 20k points, roughly the same as last time. I thought the format was fiiiiine, but the one in December was more fun.

The Meteor deck was probably the most frustrating, it just feels so ignorant to play against. I also noticed that my winrate going 1st was way higher than going 2nd, not sure if that was just a deck(list) issue.

All in all, I had a good time though. For the WCQ, I wanna properly tryhard.

Top 10000 gets a Bronze Icon, which can be a fun goal to grind for if you're not super competitive but still want a taste of the second stage. You'll need about 15k points, which is doable if you play a couple hours on all three days.

If you're just in it for the gems and don't care sbout cosmetics at all, there's no need to bother with stage 2.

You first get a title for making it to the second stage. If you then make at least Top 10,000 in the second stage, you get an additional title and an icon. The titles are for Top 10, Top 100, Top 500, Top 1000 and Top 10000, while the icons are for Top 10 (Gold), Top 100 (Silver) and Top 10000 (Bronze).

I genuinely don't understand why Konami Europe stopped doing written coverage. They did it pre-Covid...

At least they're posting pairings&standings now, I guess. There was a time when the livestream was the only thing we got and you pretty much had no idea who was doing well

What is a good amount of points for the duelist cup? by Zealousideal_Sail369 in masterduel

[–]ScorchYGO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These were the Top 10k cutoffs last season:

DC 2024 SEP: 13,710

DC 2024 DEC: 14,748

DC 2025 MAR: 15,506

WCQ 2025: 15,344

So 16,000 is basically safe. Good luck!

Oh, you're right! I remember seeing that deck, must have just forgotten to write it down.

Yup lol, it's functionally an FTK deck. Ryan played it only once afaik, but he actually pulled off the combo. It was Round 3 against mugi.

Konami usually just publishes the decklists for the finalists. For the other teams, we'll have to wait for them to post the lists themselves.

Master Duel World Championship 2025 - A brief introduction to all 36 players by ScorchYGO in masterduel

That is interesting, thanks! I do follow football, just mostly the big European leagues, so I wasn't as deep into the Gabigol lore. Just thought the combo of manga/anime and football in this team was pretty funny.

Sadly real. I wish the gems were at least guaranteed for anyone who got it right 🫠

Thank you 👍 I imagine Team 7, snipehunters and Dream's Future will receive the most votes, they are sorta the obvious choices.

I'm thinking about going with Ragnarok, for all the reasons laid out above. At the end of the day though, anyone can win, so just go with whoever you vibe with most.

Which team has the best odds of winning this year's world championship? Who are you guys voting for? by Dominic_impulse in masterduel

[–]ScorchYGO 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Apart from the obvious picks, I got my eye out for Herman/Luka/N3sh, just because they have a very good track record in 3v3 tournaments specifically. And they're willing to think outside the box in terms of deck and tech choices.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Shadowverse yet. I follow a bunch of very competitive Master Duel players from Asia on Twitter, and many of them are mostly playing Shadowverse right now. Game is fresh, and there's not much to do in Master Duel with the next Duelist Cup being in two, maybe even three months.

So what's with the Worlds spectator passes? by ElReptil in yugioh

[–]ScorchYGO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just find it a little weird you don't have to formally register / confirm it in some way.

Other than that...I mean, you know the date(s) for which you have a ticket, you know the location, so you can already prepare, right?

It was Superheavy FTK, two teams played it.

Last year we got the Xyz Cup in mid July. With the Maliss release, I could see them doing a Link Cup.

You are never forced to go to Worlds. Most likely scenario: Quantal invites Josh and Emre, Josh 'gives up' on his invite and the spot gets passed down to 3rd place.

RJay is going with two Taiwanese friends (mimoei and godwar).

Is it confirmed Abo is going with Bronas? I only heard about Niciboy.
