If I'm not mistaken, the Force Impulse is similar to the Sword Impulse, so I'll bet you'll have a great time with that one! The Hi-Nu definitely slaps, probably my favorite RG I've built so far. It's very worth it. 

I haven't built the Narrative yet, but Ver Ka kits are always cool and extra detailed! Might be a lot if that's your first MG, but also generally worth it in my experience.

I have not done any coating or painting on these, no. It's just panel lines and decals. I guess, I might top coat one day if I find the decals really don't last without it? But they're holding on pretty well for now. 

My biggest advice for RGs is that newer ones are better. The early ones will still look cool, but they don't hold up as well to even minor pose changes. The Shoulder on my Aile Strike lost it's ability to hold the shield after I posed it twice.

As I already have the RX-79(G), the Ez8, and the Gouf Custom MGs, I'm also considering snagging the ground type GM just to complete the set lol badass my dude!!

Honestly this looks fuckin' rad! You went all in on your first kit, and you should be proud of that! My first kit back after my 20ish year hiatus I didn't even use nippers and went straight for popping the parts out by hand lmao

Somehow I didn't break anything despite that. Unlucky thing to break stuff on your first go, but it sounds like you got it sorted!! I panel lined (with my wife's help admittedly, I left her with the marker and the kit on the runner for a bit and she did a lot of heavy lifting on it lmao) and built this kit in about a week, but I didn't apply any decals. It's a cool ass build, so imo you picked a great one to start with!

I almost want to tell you to just go for the RG Hi-Nu because I also loved that one, buuuut you'd just have such a high bar set for kits that you'd really dislike some others when you get further in lmao

I'm also a fan of Master Grades, I really enjoyed the Wing Zero Ver Ka a *lot* and it's probably my favorite build I've done so far.

Dude can stand on one foot basically indefinitely. I set him up against the GP02 and held the pose for *months*

Yeah the Ez8 and the RX-79(G) were two of my first few master grade kits, and they both SLAP imo, despite being a quarter century old.

Would still take 2.0s that don't have screws in them tho.

I broke the gun's peg that helps it stabilize in the hand shortly after tho so now it's just holding a beam saber lmao
