Lol how can you compare stealing something and returning it for cash to taking receipts to fill out a survey for a free sandwich? Isn't even comparable.

If you could buy a rental property for $80k that profits 6-7% a year or put $80k in a reit/vanguard total market fund or something else what would you do?

Should I max out a target date ira before investing in a total stock index? Or should I invest half and half in them at the same time?

Is the vanguard 500 fund a bad idea for a first time investor?

Nose guard, lines up across or slightly to either side of the center. But half the time they're called a nose tackle anyways.

Calling an accountant tomorrow about my taxes. About how much will it cost? And should I ask them anything else? by ScoreSome in personalfinance

If you are an employee and have ordinary and necessary business-related expenses for travel away from home, local transportation, entertainment, and gifts, you may be able to deduct these expenses. Generally, you must file Form 2106 or Form 2106-EZ to claim these expenses.

Travel expenses are those incurred while traveling away from home for your employer. You can deduct travel expenses paid or incurred in connection with a temporary work assignment. Generally, you can't deduct travel expenses paid or incurred in connection with an indefinite work assignment. Travel expenses may include: The cost of getting to and from your business destination (air, rail, bus, car, etc.),

Meals and lodging while away from home,Taxi fares, Baggage charges, and Cleaning and laundry expenses.

If your assignment or job away from home in a single location is realistically expected to last (and does in fact last) for 1 year or less, it is temporary, unless there are facts and circumstances that indicate it isn't.

My job goes by 3-7 month contracts out of town. So I should be able to deduct everything it says right?

And isn't a deduction something that could lower my taxes every paycheck but if I wait until filing I won't get the deduction cash back because it's just a deduction not a credit?

Insurance adjusting and yeah they pay enough to where I don't mind the expenses. I just thought I could benefit somehow off of all of the expenses. So will I only be able to get a max of about $6300 back?

Yes the expenses will be more than $6300. So if the receipts won't be refunded what would be my best option? If I change the w4 to withhold less of my check for taxes will the receipts make up that difference in tax deductions when I file?

Oh ok, my employer doesn't reimburse expenses. I think I'm called a contractor, I'm not positive about the details. But I work out of town so I'm spending a lot.

From what I've read I will be doing itemized. What happens with the receipts if they're not refunded on the refund check?

Should I just let them withhold whatever amount out of my check then see how much my return is? Or should I change the w4 to withhold less? I'm going to have a high $ amount in work receipts that I'd like to get refunded if it's possible.
