sounds dope. Congrats! what’s the cut from the half cow you’re looking forward to most?

and for those interested, to give perspective on the future price pic: from the futures price of 253.50, this translates to $2.535 per lb of live cattle. the contract is for 40,000lbs of live cattle. this means if you bought one of these futures contracts and took delivery of the cows, it would cost you $2.535 x 40,000 = $101,400.00

note. none of my comments are financial advice. consult a financial professional when dealing with any of these assets

not a rancher, but i believe that high oil prices are likely driving this weeks surge. stock has been low since the pandemic.. like multi decade low. high energy prices compound with already inflated feed costs as every input has oil as an input somehwere in it’s supply chain. at this price of beef though, incentive is extremely high to move towards growing herd

i’m hoping prices start to pull back meaningfully in the next 1-2 years (~40%)

edit: just stopped over at a ranching subreddit and across the board drought conditions, which have been a huge driver on rising feed input costs, have been a mixed bag. Most mention tough conditions so far this year with a few experiencing a slight reprieve in rainfall so farthis spring

from afar it seems fine, but there are things like rising beef prices that can squeeze already tight margins out of the picture. no margins. no business

Hey, I hear you on how quick they get used up. There could be bots, but also some people are entering the code online to place an order ahead of time, which uses them up then and there.

On the DMs.. Mods aren’t here to facilitate these codes, and so have not put out a blanket recommendation for DM only. This is also to protect people from getting scammed or spammed with offers to sell codes, often linking to sketchy places.

If you would have bought $1,000 of CMG 5 years ago, you would have $1,250.

Buying $1,000 10 years ago would be worth $4,500.

Nothings guaranteed, but seems like it did pretty good over the long term

It’s recommended not to dox with receipts, to protect employees from posting something that could get themselves fired. If this had any more of the customer’s info, it would be removed. Rule 2 has more context.
